¹¹Omnes servi regis,“All the servants of the king and all the provinces that are under his realm understand that anyone,et cunctæ,whether man or woman,quæ sub ditione ejus sunt,who enters the king’s inner court,norunt provinciæ,who has not been summoned,quod sive vir,is immediately to be put to death without any delay,sive mulier non vocatus,unless the king should happen to extend the golden scepter to him,interius atrium regis intraverit,as a sign of clemency,absque ulla cunctatione statim interficiatur:so that he will be able to live.nisi forte rex auream virgam ad eum tetenderit pro signo clementiæ,How then can I go in to the king,atque ita possit vivere.when,Ego igitur quomodo ad regem intrare potero,for thirty days now,quæ triginta jam diebus non sum vocata ad eum?I have not been called to him?”
