Fecit igitur superhumerale de auro,And so he made an ephod of gold, hyacintho, hyacinth,et purpura, and purple, coccoque bis tincto, and twice-dyed scarlet,et bysso retorta, and fine twisted linen,
opere polymitario:wrought with embroidery.inciditque bracteas aureas,And he cut thin strips of goldet extenuavit in fila, and drew them into threads,ut possent torqueri cum priorum colorum subtegmine,so that they could be twisted into the weave of the first colors.
duasque oras sibi invicem copulatas in utroque latere summitatum,And he made two edges, coupled to one another at the top of both sides,
et balteum ex eisdem coloribus, and a wide belt from the same colors, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi.just as the Lord had instructed Moses.
Paravit et duos lapides onychinos,He also prepared two onyx stones, astrictos et inclusos auro, set and enclosed in gold,et sculptos arte gemmaria nominibus filiorum Israël:and engraved with the skill of a jeweler, with the names of the sons of Israel.
posuitque eos in lateribus superhumeralis in monimentum filiorum Israël,And he set them in the sides of the ephod, as a memorial to the sons of Israel, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi.just as the Lord had instructed Moses.
Fecit et rationale opere polymito juxta opus superhumeralis,He also made a breastplate, wrought with embroidery, according to the work of the ephod,ex auro, from gold, hyacintho, purpura, hyacinth, purple, coccoque bis tincto, and twice-dyed scarlet,et bysso retorta:and fine twisted linen:

Ipsique lapides duodecim sculpti erant nominibus duodecim tribuum Israël,And these twelve stones were engraved with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, singuli per nomina singulorum.each one with a single name.
Fecerunt in rationali et catenulas sibi invicem cohærentes,They also made, in the breastplate, little chains linked to one another,de auro purissimo:from the purest gold,
et duos uncinos, totidemque annulos aureos.and two hooks, and the same number of gold rings.Porro annulos posuerunt in utroque latere rationalis,Moreover, they set the rings at both sides of the breastplate,
e quibus penderent duæ catenæ aureæ,from which two golden chains would hang, quas inseruerunt uncinis, qui in superhumeralis angulis eminebant.which they connected with the hooks that projected from the corners of the ephod.
Hæc et ante et retro ita conveniebant sibi,These were both in front and in back so that they met one another,ut superhumerale et rationale mutuo necterentur, and so that the ephod and the breastplate were woven together,
stricta ad balteum et annulis fortius copulata, being fastened to the wide belt and strongly coupled with rings, quos jungebat vitta hyacinthina,to which a hyacinth band was joined,ne laxa fluerent, et a se invicem moverentur, lest they should shake loose and be moved away from one another, sicut præcepit Dominus Moysi.just as the Lord instructed Moses.
Feceruntque quoque tunicam superhumeralis totam hyacinthinam,They also made the tunic of the ephod entirely from hyacinth,
