Et convertit me ad portam domus,And he turned me back to the gate of the house.et ecce aquæ egrediebantur subter limen domus ad orientem:And behold, waters went out, from under the threshold of the house, facies enim domus respiciebat ad orientem, toward the east. For the face of the house looked toward the east.aquæ autem descendebant in latus templi dextrum,But the waters descended on the right side of the temple,ad meridiem altaris.toward the south of the altar.

Et eduxit me per viam portæ aquilonis,And he led me out, along the way of the north gate,et convertit me ad viam foras portam exteriorem, and he turned me back toward the way outside the exterior gate, viam quæ respiciebat ad orientem:the way which looked toward the east.et ecce aquæ redundantes a latere dextro. And behold, the waters overflowed on the right side.

Cum egrederetur vir ad orientem, qui habebat funiculum in manu sua,Then the man who held the rope in his hand departed toward the east,et mensus est mille cubitos, and he measured one thousand cubits.et traduxit me per aquam usque ad talos. And he led me forward, through the water, up to the ankles.

Rursumque mensus est mille,And again he measured one thousand,et traduxit me per aquam usque ad genua.and he led me forward, through the water, up to the knees.

Et mensus est mille,And he measured one thousand,et traduxit me per aquam usque ad renes.and he led me forward, through the water, up to the waist.Et mensus est mille,And he measured one thousand, torrentem quem non potui pertransire, into a torrent, through which I was not able to pass.quoniam intumuerant aquæ profundi torrentis,For the waters had risen to become a profound torrent, qui non potest transvadari.which was not able to be crossed.

Et dixit ad me:And he said to me:Certe vidisti,“Son of man, fili hominis.certainly you have seen.”Et eduxit me,And he led me out,et convertit ad ripam torrentis.and he turned me back to the bank of the torrent.

Cumque me convertissem,And when I had turned myself around, ecce in ripa torrentis ligna multa nimis ex utraque parte.behold, on the bank of the torrent, there were very many trees on both sides.

Et ait ad me:And he said to me:Aquæ istæ quæ egrediuntur ad tumulos sabuli orientalis,“These waters, which go forth toward the hillocks of sand to the east,et descendunt ad plana deserti, and which descend to the plains of the desert, intrabunt mare et exibunt:will enter the sea, and will go out,et sanabuntur aquæ.and the waters will be healed.

Et omnis anima vivens quæ serpit quocumque venerit torrens,And every living soul that moves, wherever the torrent arrives, will live.vivet: et erunt pisces multi satis,And there will be more than enough fish, postquam venerint illuc aquæ istæ:after these waters have arrived there,et sanabuntur et vivent omnia ad quæ venerit torrens.and they will be healed. And all things will live, where the torrent arrives.

Et stabunt super illas piscatores:And fishermen will stand over these waters.ab Engaddi usque ad Engallim siccatio sagenarum erit:There will be the drying of nets, from Engedi even to Eneglaim.plurimæ species erunt piscium ejus,There will be very many kinds of fish within it:sicut pisces maris magni, multitudinis nimiæ.a very great multitude, like the fish of the great sea.

In littoribus autem ejus et in palustribus,But on its shore and in the marshes, non sanabuntur, they will not be healed.quia in salinas dabuntur. For these will be made into salt pits.

Et super torrentem orietur in ripis ejus,And above the torrent,ex utraque parte,on its banks on both sides, omne lignum pomiferum:every kind of fruit tree will rise up.non defluet folium ex eo,Their foliage will not fall away,et non deficiet fructus ejus:and their fruit will not fail.per singulos menses afferet primitiva,Every single month they will bring forth first-fruits.quia aquæ ejus de sanctuario egredientur:For its waters will go forth from the sanctuary.et erunt fructus ejus in cibum,And its fruits will be for food,et folia ejus ad medicinam.and its leaves will be for medicine.”

Hæc dicit Dominus Deus:Thus says the Lord God:Hic est terminus in quo possidebitis terram in duodecim tribubus Israël:“This is the border, by which you shall possess the land, in accord with the twelve tribes of Israel.quia Joseph duplicem funiculum habet. For Joseph shall have a double portion.

Possidebitis autem eam singuli æque ut frater suus,And you shall possess it, each one in equal manner as his brother.super quam levavi manum meam ut darem patribus vestris:I lifted up my hand over it, so that I might give it to your fathers.et cadet terra hæc vobis in possessionem. And this land shall fall to you as a possession.

Hic est autem terminus terræ:Now this is the border of the land toward the northern region,ad plagam septentrionalem, from the great sea,a mari magno via Hethalon,by the way of Hethlon, venientibus Sedada, arriving at Zedad:

Emath,Hamath,Berotha,Berothah,Sabarim,Sibraim,quæ est inter terminum Damasci et confinium Emath, which is between the border of Damascus and the confines of Hamath, domus Tichon, the house of Ticon,quæ est juxta terminum Auran.which is beside the border of Hauran,

Et erit terminus a mari usque ad atrium Enon, and the border will be from the sea, even to the entrance of Enon, terminus Damasci:at the border of Damascus,et ab aquilone ad aquilonem, and from the north to the north, terminus Emath plaga septentrionalis.at the border of Hamath, on the northern side.

Porro plaga orientalis de medio Auran,Moreover, the eastern region will be from the midst of Hauran,et de medio Damasci, and from the midst of Damascus,et de medio Galaad, and from the midst of Gilead,et de medio terræ Israël,and from the midst of the land of Israel,Jordanis disterminans ad mare orientale.to the Jordan, marking the boundary to the eastern sea.Metiemini etiam plagam orientalem. For so shall you measure the eastern region.

Plaga autem australis meridiana,Now the southern region, toward the meridian,a Thamar usque ad aquas contradictionis Cades, will be from Tamar, even to the Waters of Contradiction at Kadesh,et torrens usque ad mare magnum:and from the Torrent, even to the great sea.et hæc est plaga ad meridiem australis. And this is the southern region, toward the meridian.

Et plaga maris, mare magnum a confinio per directum, donec venias Emath:And the region toward the sea will have its confines from the great sea continuing directly until one arrives at Hamath.hæc est plaga maris. This is the region of the sea.

Et dividetis terram istam vobis per tribus Israël:And you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel.

et mittetis eam in hæreditatem vobis,And you shall distribute it by lot as an inheritance,et advenis qui accesserint ad vos, qui genuerint filios in medio vestrum:for yourselves and for the new arrival who will be added to you, who will conceive sons in your midst.et erunt vobis sicut indigenæ inter filios Israël:And they shall be to you as the indigenous among the sons of Israel.vobiscum divident possessionem in medio tribuum Israël.They shall divide the possession with you, in the midst of the tribes of Israel.

In tribu autem quacumque fuerit advena,And in whatever tribe the new arrival will be,ibi dabitis possessionem illi, there you shall give a possession to him,ait Dominus Deus.says the Lord God.”
