3Jecsan quoque genuit SabaLikewise,et Dadan.Jokshan conceived Sheba and Dedan.Filii Dadan fuerunt Assurim,The sons of Dedan were Asshurim,et Latusim,and Letushim,et Loomin.and Leummim.
4At vero ex Madian ortus est Epha,And truly, from Midian was born Ephah,et Opher,and Epher,et Henoch,and Hanoch,et Abida,and Abida,et Eldaa:and Eldaah.omnes hi filii Ceturæ.All these were the sons of Keturah.
5Deditque Abraham cuncta quæ possederat, Isaac:And Abraham gave everything that he possessed to Isaac.
6filiis autem concubinarum largitus est munera,But to the sons of the concubines he gave generous gifts,et separavit eos ab Isaac filio suo,and he separated them from his son Isaac,dum adhuc ipse viveret,while he still lived,ad plagam orientalem.toward the eastern region.
7Fuerunt autem dies vitæ Abrahæ,Now the days of Abraham’s life were one hundredcentum septuaginta quinque anni.and seventy-five years.
8Et deficiens mortuus est in senectute bona,And declining, he died in a good old age,provectæque ætatis et plenus dierum:and at an advanced stage of life, and full of days.congregatusque est ad populum suum.And he was gathered to his people.
9Et sepelierunt eum IsaacAnd his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the double cave,et Ismaël filii sui in spelunca duplici,which was situated in the field of Ephron,quæ sita est in agro Ephron filii Seor Hethæi,of the son of Zohar the Hittite,e regione Mambre,across from the region of Mamre,
10quem emerat a filiis Heth:which he had bought from the sons of Heth.ibi sepultus est ipse,There he was buried,et Sara uxor ejus.with his wife Sarah.

16Isti sunt filii Ismaëlis:These are the sons of Ishmael.et hæc nomina per castella et oppida eorum,And these are their names throughout their fortresses and towns:duodecim principes tribuum suarum.the twelve princes of their tribes.
17Et facti sunt anni vitæ Ismaëlis centum triginta septem,And the years of the life of Ishmael that passed were one hundred and thirty-seven.deficiensque mortuus est,And declining,et appositus ad populum suum.he died and was placed with his people.
18Habitavit autem ab Hevila usque Sur,Now he had lived from Havilah as far as Shur,quæ respicit Ægyptum introëuntibus Assyrios;which overlooks Egypt as it approaches the Assyrians.coram cunctis fratribus suis obiit.He passed away in the sight of all his brothers.
19Hæ quoque sunt generationes Isaac filii Abraham:Likewise, these are the generations of Isaac, the son of Abraham.Abraham genuit Isaac:Abraham conceived Isaac,
20qui cum quadraginta esset annorum,who, when he was forty years old, took Rebekah,duxit uxorem Rebeccam filiam Bathuelis Syri de Mesopotamia,the sister of Laban, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian from Mesopotamia,sororem Laban.as a wife.
21Deprecatusque est Isaac Dominum pro uxore sua,And Isaac beseeched the Lord on behalf of his wife,eo quod esset sterilis:because she was barren.qui exaudivit eum,And he heard him,et dedit conceptum Rebeccæ.and he gave conception to Rebekah.
22Sed collidebantur in utero ejus parvuli;But the little ones struggled in her womb.quæ ait:So she said,Si sic mihi futurum erat,“If it was to be so with me,quid necesse fuit concipere?what need was there to conceive?”perrexitque ut consuleret Dominum.And she went to consult the Lord.
23Qui respondens ait:And responding, he said,Duæ gentes sunt in utero tuo,“Two nations are in your womb,et duo populi ex ventre tuo dividentur,and two peoples will be divided out of your womb,populusque populum superabit,and one people will overcome the other people,et major serviet minori.and the elder will serve the younger.”
24Jam tempus pariendi advenerat,Now the time had arrived to give birth,et ecce gemini in utero ejus reperti sunt.and behold, twins were discovered in her womb.
25Qui prior egressus est, rufus erat,He who departed first was red,et totus in morem pellis hispidus:and entirely hairy like a pelt;vocatumque est nomen ejus Esau.and his name was called Esau.Protinus alter egrediens, plantam fratris tenebat manu:At once the other departed and he held his brother’s foot in his hand;et idcirco appellavit eum Jacob.and because of this he was called Jacob.
26Sexagenarius erat Isaac quando nati sunt ei parvuli.Isaac was sixty years old when the little ones were born to him.
27Quibus adultis,And as adults,factus est Esau vir gnarus venandi, et homo agricola:Esau became a knowledgeable hunter and a man of agriculture,Jacob autem vir simplex habitabat in tabernaculis.but Jacob, a simple man, dwelt in tents.
28Isaac amabat Esau,Isaac was fond of Esau,eo quod de venationibus illius vesceretur:because he was fed from his hunting;et Rebecca diligebat Jacob.and Rebekah loved Jacob.
29Coxit autem Jacob pulmentum:Then Jacob boiled a small meal.ad quem cum venisset Esau de agro lassus,Esau, when he had arrived weary from the field,
30ait: Da mihi de coctione hac rufa,said to him, “Give me this red stew,quia oppido lassus sum.for I am very tired.”Quam ob causam vocatum est nomen ejus Edom.For this reason, his name was called Edom.
31Cui dixit Jacob:Jacob said to him,Vende mihi primogenita tua.“Sell me your right of the firstborn.”
32Ille respondit:He answered, “Lo,En morior,I am dying,quid mihi proderunt primogenita?what will the right of the firstborn provide for me?”
33Ait Jacob:Jacob said,Jura ergo mihi.“So then, swear to me.”Juravit ei Esau et vendidit primogenita.Esau swore to him, and he sold his right of the firstborn.
34Et sic,And so,accepto pane et lentis edulio,taking bread and the food of lentils,comedit et bibit,he ate, and he drank,et abiit,and he went away,parvipendens quod primogenita vendidisset.giving little weight to having sold the right of the firstborn.
