2Constituitque militum numeros in cunctis urbibus Juda quæ erant vallatæ muris. And he appointed numbers of soldiers in all the cities of Judah that had been fortified with walls.Præsidiaque disposuit in terra Juda,And he placed garrisons in the land of Judah,et in civitatibus Ephraim quas ceperat Asa pater ejus.and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had seized.
3Et fuit Dominus cum Josaphat,And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, quia ambulavit in viis David patris sui primis:because he walked in the first ways of his father, David.et non speravit in Baalim,And he did not trust in the Baals,
4sed in Deo patris sui:but in the God of his father.et perrexit in præceptis illius,And he advanced in his precepts,et non juxta peccata Israël.and not according to the sins of Israel.
