Alleluja.Alleluia.In exitu Israël de Ægypto,At the departure of Israel from Egypt, domus Jacob de populo barbaro, the house of Jacob from a barbarous people:

facta est Judæa sanctificatio ejus;Judea was made his sanctuary;Israël potestas ejus.Israel was made his power.

Mare vidit,The sea looked,et fugit;and it fled.Jordanis conversus est retrorsum. The Jordan was turned back again.

Montes exsultaverunt ut arietes,The mountains exulted like rams,et colles sicut agni ovium.and the hills like lambs among the sheep.

Quid est tibi,What happened to you, mare,O sea, quod fugisti?so that you fled,et tu,and to you,Jordanis,O Jordan, quia conversus es retrorsum?so that you were turned back again?

montes,What happened to you, exsultastis sicut arietes?O mountains, so that you exulted like rams, and to you,et colles, sicut agni ovium?O hills, so that you exulted like lambs among the sheep?

A facie Domini mota est terra,Before the face of the Lord, the earth was moved,a facie Dei Jacob:before the face of the God of Jacob.

qui convertit petram in stagna aquarum,He converted the rock into pools of water,et rupem in fontes aquarum.and the cliff into fountains of waters.

Non nobis,Not to us,Domine,O Lord, non nobis, not to us,sed nomini tuo da gloriam:but to your name give glory.

super misericordia tua et veritate tua;Give glory to your mercy and your truth, nequando dicant gentes:lest the Gentiles should say,Ubi est Deus eorum?“Where is their God?”

Deus autem noster in cælo;But our God is in heaven.omnia quæcumque voluit fecit. All things whatsoever that he has willed, he has done.

Simulacra gentium argentum et aurum,The idols of the nations are silver and gold, opera manuum hominum.the works of the hands of men.

Os habent,They have mouths,et non loquentur;and do not speak;oculos habent,they have eyes,et non videbunt.and do not see.

Aures habent,They have ears,et non audient;and do not hear;nares habent,they have noses,et non odorabunt.and do not smell.

Manus habent,They have hands,et non palpabunt;and do not feel;pedes habent, they have feet,et non ambulabunt;and do not walk.non clamabunt in gutture suo.Neither will they cry out with their throat.

Similes illis fiant qui faciunt ea,Let those who make them become like them,et omnes qui confidunt in eis.along with all who trust in them.

Domus Israël speravit in Domino; The house of Israel has hoped in the Lord.adjutor eorum et protector eorum est.He is their helper and their protector.

Domus Aaron speravit in Domino; The house of Aaron has hoped in the Lord.adjutor eorum et protector eorum est.He is their helper and their protector.

Qui timent Dominum speraverunt in Domino; Those who fear the Lord have hoped in the Lord.adjutor eorum et protector eorum est.He is their helper and their protector.

Dominus memor fuit nostri,The Lord has been mindful of us,et benedixit nobis.and he has blessed us.Benedixit domui Israël;He has blessed the house of Israel.benedixit domui Aaron. He has blessed the house of Aaron.

Benedixit omnibus qui timent Dominum,He has blessed all who fear the Lord, pusillis cum majoribus.the small with the great.

Adjiciat Dominus super vos,May the Lord add blessings upon you:super vosupon you,et super filios vestros.and upon your sons.

Benedicti vos a Domino,Blessed are you by the Lord, qui fecit cælum et terram.who made heaven and earth.

Cælum cæli Domino; The heaven of heaven is for the Lord, terram autem dedit filiis hominum.but the earth he has given to the sons of men.

Non mortui laudabunt te,The dead will not praise you,Domine,Lord, neque omnes qui descendunt in infernum:and neither will all those who descend into Hell.

sed nos qui vivimus,But we who live will bless the Lord, benedicimus Domino, from this time forward,ex hoc nunc et usque in sæculum.and even forever.
