1Davidi,To David,cum immutavit vultum suum coram Achimelech,when he changed his appearance in the sight of Abimelech,et dimisit eum,and so he dismissed him,et abiit.and he went away.
2Benedicam Dominum in omni tempore;I will bless the Lord at all times.semper laus ejus in ore meo.His praise will be ever in my mouth.
3In Domino laudabitur anima mea:In the Lord,audiant mansueti,my soul will be praised.et lætentur.May the meek listen and rejoice.
4Magnificate Dominum mecum,Magnify the Lord with me,et exaltemus nomen ejus in idipsum.and let us extol his name in itself.
5Exquisivi Dominum,I sought the Lord,et exaudivit me;and he heeded me,et ex omnibus tribulationibus meis eripuit me.and he carried me away from all my tribulations.
6Accedite ad eum,Approach himet illuminamini;and be enlightened,et facies vestræ non confundentur.and your faces will not be confounded.
7Iste pauper clamavit,This poor one cried out,et Dominus exaudivit eum,and the Lord heeded him,et de omnibus tribulationibus ejus salvavit eum.and he saved him from all his tribulations.
8Immittet angelus Domini in circuitu timentium eum,The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear him,et eripiet eos.and he will rescue them.
9Gustate et videte quoniam suavis est Dominus;Taste and see that the Lord is sweet.beatus vir qui sperat in eo.Blessed is the man who hopes in him.
10Timete Dominum,Fear the Lord,omnes sancti ejus,all you his saints.quoniam non est inopia timentibus eum.For there is no destitution for those who fear him.
11Divites eguerunt,The rich have been needyet esurierunt;and hungry,inquirentes autem Dominum non minuentur omni bono.but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good thing.
12Venite,Come forward,filii;sons.audite me:Listen to me.timorem Domini docebo vos.I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
13Quis est homo qui vult vitam;Which is the man who wills life,diligit dies videre bonos?who chooses to see good days?
14Prohibe linguam tuam a malo,Prohibit your tongue from evilet labia tua ne loquantur dolum.and your lips from speaking deceit.
15Diverte a malo,Turn away from evil,et fac bonum;and do good.inquire pacem,Inquire about peace,et persequere eam.and pursue it.
16Oculi Domini super justos,The eyes of the Lord are on the just,et aures ejus in preces eorum.and his ears are with their prayers.
17Vultus autem Domini super facientes mala,But the countenance of the Lord is upon those who do evil,ut perdat de terra memoriam eorum.to perish the remembrance of them from the earth.
18Clamaverunt justi,The just cried out,et Dominus exaudivit eos;and the Lord heard them,et ex omnibus tribulationibus eorum liberavit eos.and he freed them from all their tribulations.
19Juxta est Dominus iis qui tribulato sunt corde,The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart,et humiles spiritu salvabit.and he will save the humble in spirit.
20Multæ tribulationes justorum;Many are the afflictions of the just,et de omnibus his liberabit eos Dominus.but from them all the Lord will free them.
21Custodit Dominus omnia ossa eorum:The Lord preserves all of their bones,unum ex his non conteretur.not one of them shall be broken.
22Mors peccatorum pessima;The death of a sinner is very harmful,et qui oderunt justum delinquent.and those who hate the just will fare badly.
23Redimet Dominus animas servorum suorum,The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants,et non delinquent omnes qui sperant in eo.and none of those who hope in him will fare badly.
