Post hæc audivi quasi vocem turbarum multarum in cælo dicentium:After these things,Alleluja:I heard something like the voice of many multitudes in heaven, salus, saying:et gloria,“Alleluia!et virtus Deo nostro est:Praise and glory and power is for our God.

quia vera et justa judicia sunt ejus,For truequi judicavit de meretrice magna, and just are his judgments,quæ corrupit terram in prostitutione sua,he who has judged the great harlot that corrupted the earth by her prostitution.et vindicavit sanguinem servorum suorum de manibus ejus. And he has vindicated the blood of his servants from her hands.”

Et iterum dixerunt:And again, they said:Alleluja.“Alleluia!Et fumus ejus ascendit in sæcula sæculorum. For her smoke ascends forever and ever.”

Et ceciderunt seniores viginti quatuor, et quatuor animalia,And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God,et adoraverunt Deum sedentem super thronum, dicentes:sitting upon the throne, saying:Amen:“Amen!alleluja.Alleluia!”

Et vox de throno exivit,And a voice went out from the throne, dicens:saying:Laudem dicite Deo nostro omnes servi ejus:“Express praise to our God, all you his servants,et qui timetis eum pusilli et magni.and you who fear him, small and great.”

Et audivi quasi vocem turbæ magnæ,And I heard something like the voice of a great multitude,et sicut vocem aquarum multarum, and like the voice of many waters,et sicut vocem tonitruorum magnorum, dicentium:and like the voice of great thunders, saying:Alleluja:“Alleluia!quoniam regnavit Dominus Deus noster omnipotens. For the Lord our God, the Almighty, has reigned.

Gaudeamus,Let us be gladet exsultemus:and exult.et demus gloriam ei:And let us give glory to him.quia venerunt nuptiæ Agni,For the marriage feast of the Lamb has arrived,et uxor ejus præparavit se.and his wife has prepared herself.”

Et datum est illi ut cooperiat se byssino splendentiAnd it was granted to her that she should cover herself with fine linen,et candido.splendid and white.Byssinum enim justificationes sunt sanctorum. For the fine linen is the justifications of the Saints.

Et dixit mihi:And he said to me:Scribe:“Write:Beati qui ad cœnam nuptiarum Agni vocati sunt;Blessed are those who have been called to the wedding feast of the Lamb.”et dixit mihi:And he said to me,Hæc verba Dei vera sunt.“These words of God are true.”

Et cecidi ante pedes ejus,And I fell down before his feet,ut adorarem eum.to adore him.Et dicit mihi:And he said to me:Vide ne feceris:“Be careful not to do so.conservus tuus sum,I am your fellow servant,et fratrum tuorum habentium testimonium Jesu.and I am among your brothers, who hold to the testimony of Jesus.Deum adora.Adore God.Testimonium enim Jesu est spiritus prophetiæ.For the testimony of Jesus is a spirit of prophecy.”

Et vidi cælum apertum,And I saw heaven opened,et ecce equus albus, and behold, a white horse.et qui sedebat super eum, vocabatur Fidelis, et Verax,And he who was sitting upon it was called Faithful and True.et cum justitia judicat et pugnat. And with justice does he judge and fight.

Oculi autem ejus sicut flamma ignis,And his eyes are like a flame of fire,et in capite ejus diademata multa, and on his head are many diadems, habens nomen scriptum, having a name written, quod nemo novit nisi ipse.which no one knows except himself.

Et vestitus erat veste aspersa sanguine:And he was clothed with a vestment sprinkled with blood.et vocatur nomen ejus:And his name is called:Verbum Dei.THE WORD OF GOD.

Et exercitus qui sunt in cælo,And the armies that are in heaven were following him on white horses, sequebantur eum in equis albis, clothed in fine linen, vestiti byssino albo et mundo.white and clean.

Et de ore ejus procedit gladius ex utraque parte acutus,And from his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword,ut in ipso percutiat gentes.so that with it he may strike the nations.Et ipse reget eas in virga ferrea:And he shall rule them with an iron rod.et ipse calcat torcular vini furoris iræ Dei omnipotentis. And he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

Et habet in vestimento et in femore suo scriptum:And he has on his garment and on his thigh written:Rex regum et Dominus dominantium.KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Et vidi unum angelum stantem in sole,And I saw a certain Angel,et clamavit voce magna, standing in the sun.dicens omnibus avibus,And he cried out with a great voice,quæ volabant per medium cæli:saying to all the birds that were flying through the midst of the sky,Venite,“Comeet congregamini ad cœnam magnam Dei:and gather together for the great supper of God,

ut manducetis carnes regum,so that you may eat the flesh of kings,et carnes tribunorum, and the flesh of tribunes,et carnes fortium, and the flesh of the strong,et carnes equorum, et sedentium in ipsis, and the flesh of horses and those sitting on them,et carnes omnium liberorum, and the flesh of all:et servorum, et pusillorum et magnorum.free and servant, small and great.”

Et vidi bestiam,And I saw the beastet reges terræ,and the kings of the earthet exercitus eorum congregatos ad faciendum prælium cum illo, and their armies, qui sedebat in equo, having been gathered together to do battle against him who was sitting upon the horse,et cum exercitu ejus.and against his army.

Et apprehensa est bestia,And the beast was apprehended,et cum ea pseudopropheta:and with him the false prophetess, qui fecit signa coram ipso, who in his presence caused the signs, quibus seduxit eos, qui acceperunt caracterem bestiæ, et qui adoraverunt imaginem ejus.by which she seduced those who accepted the character of the beast and who worshiped his image.Vivi missi sunt hi duo in stagnum ignis ardentis sulphure:These two were cast alive into the pool of fire burning with sulphur.

et ceteri occisi sunt in gladio sedentis super equum, qui procedit de ore ipsius:And the others were slain by the sword that proceeds from the mouth of him who was sitting upon the horse.et omnes aves saturatæ sunt carnibus eorum. And all the birds were sated with their flesh.
