1Et vidi angelum descendentem de cælo,And I saw an Angel,habentem clavem abyssi,descending from heaven,et catenam magnam in manu sua.holding in his hand the key of the abyss and a great chain.
2Et apprehendit draconem,And he apprehended the dragon,serpentem antiquum,the ancient serpent,qui est diabolus,who is the devilet Satanas,and Satan,et ligavit eum per annos mille:and he bound him for a thousand years.
3et misit eum in abyssum,And he cast him into the abyss,et clausit, et signavit super illum ut non seducat amplius gentes,and he closed and sealed it, so that he would no longer seduce the nations,donec consummentur mille anni:until the thousand years are completed.et post hæc oportet illum solvi modico tempore.And after these things, he must be released for a brief time.
4Et vidi sedes,And I saw thrones.et sederunt super eas,And they sat upon them.et judicium datum est illis:And judgment was given to them.et animas decollatorum propter testimonium Jesu,And the souls of those beheaded because of the testimony of Jesuset propter verbum Dei,and because of the Word of God,et qui non adoraverunt bestiam,and who did not adore the beast,neque imaginem ejus,nor his image,nec acceperunt caracterem ejus in frontibus,nor accept his character on their foreheadsaut in manibus suis,or on their hands:et vixerunt,they livedet regnaverunt cum Christo mille annis.and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5Ceteri mortuorum non vixerunt,The rest of the dead did not live,donec consummentur mille anni.until the thousand years are completed.Hæc est resurrectio prima.This is the First Resurrection.
6Beatus,Blessedet sanctus,and holy is he who takes part in the First Resurrection.qui habet partem in resurrectione prima:Over these the second death has no power.in his secunda mors non habet potestatem:But they shall be priests of Godsed erunt sacerdotes Dei et Christi,and of Christ,et regnabunt cum illo mille annis.and they shall reign with him for a thousand years.
7Et cum consummati fuerint mille anni,And when the thousand years will have been completed,solvetur Satanas de carcere suo,Satan shall be released from his prison,et exibit, et seducet gentes, quæ sunt super quatuor angulos terræ,and he will go out and seduce the nations which are upon the four quarters of the earth,Gog, et Magog,Gog and Magog.et congregabit eos in prælium,And he will gather them together for battle,quorum numerus est sicut arena maris.those whose number is like the sand of the sea.
8Et ascenderunt super latitudinem terræ,And they climbed across the breadth of the earth,et circuierunt castra sanctorum,and they encompassed the camp of the Saintset civitatem dilectam.and the Beloved City.
9Et descendit ignis a Deo de cælo, et devoravit eos:And fire from God descended from heaven and devoured them.et diabolus,And the devil,qui seducebat eos,who seduced them,missus est in stagnum ignis, et sulphuris, ubi et bestiawas cast into the pool of fire and sulphur,
10et pseudopropheta cruciabuntur die ac nocte in sæcula sæculorum.where both the beast and the false prophetess shall be tortured, day and night, forever and ever.
11Et vidi thronum magnum candidum,And I saw a great white throne,et sedentem super eum,and One sitting upon it,a cujus conspectu fugit terra,from whose sight earthet cælum,and heaven fled,et locus non est inventus eis.and no place was found for them.
12Et vidi mortuos,And I saw the dead,magnos et pusillos,greatstantes in conspectu throni,and small,et libri aperti sunt:standing in view of the throne.et alius liber apertus est,And books were opened.qui est vitæ:And another Book was opened,et judicati sunt mortui ex his,which is the Book of Life.quæ scripta erant in libris,And the dead were judged by those things that had been written in the books,secundum opera ipsorum:according to their works.
13et dedit mare mortuos,And the sea gave up the dead who were in it.qui in eo erant:And deathet mors et infernus dederunt mortuos suos,and Hell gave up their dead who were in them.qui in ipsis erant:And they were judged,et judicatum est de singulis secundum opera ipsorum.each one according to his works.
14Et infernus et mors missi sunt in stagnum ignis.And Hell and death were cast into the pool of fire.Hæc est mors secunda.This is the second death.
15Et qui non inventus est in libro vitæ scriptus, missus est in stagnum ignis.And whoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the pool of fire.
