1Cumque intraveris terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus tibi daturus est possidendam,“And when you will have entered into the land which the Lord your God will give to you to possess,et obtinueris eam, atque habitaveris in ea:and when you will have obtained it and are living within it:

2tolles de cunctis frugibus tuis primitias,you shall take the first of all your crops,et pones in cartallo,and place them in a basket,pergesque ad locum quem Dominus Deus tuus elegerit,and you shall travel to the place which the Lord your God will choose,ut ibi invocetur nomen ejus:so that his name may be invoked there.

3accedesque ad sacerdotem, qui fuerit in diebus illis,And you shall approach the priest who will be in those days,et dices ad eum:and you shall say to him:Profiteor hodie coram Domino Deo tuo,‘I profess this day, before the Lord your God,quod ingressus sum in terram, pro qua juravit patribus nostris, ut daret eam nobis.that I have entered into the land about which he swore to our fathers that he would give it to us.’

4Suscipiensque sacerdos cartallum de manu tua,And the priest, taking up the basket from your hand,ponet ante altare Domini Dei tui:shall place it before the altar of the Lord your God.

5et loqueris in conspectu Domini Dei tui:And you shall say, in the sight of the Lord your God:Syrus persequebatur patrem meum,‘The Syrian pursued my father,qui descendit in Ægyptum,who descended into Egypt,et ibi peregrinatus est in paucissimo numero:and he sojourned there in a very small number,crevitque in gentem magnam ac robustam et infinitæ multitudinis.and he increased into a great and strong nation and into an innumerable multitude.

6Afflixeruntque nos Ægyptii,And the Egyptians afflicted us,et persecuti sunt,and they persecuted us,imponentes onera gravissima:imposing upon us the most grievous burdens.

7et clamavimus ad Dominum Deum patrum nostrorum:And we cried out to the Lord, the God of our fathers.qui exaudivit nos, et respexit humilitatem nostram,He heard us, and he looked with favor upon our humiliation,et laborem,and hardship,atque angustiam:and distress.

8et eduxit nos de Ægypto in manu forti,And he led us away from Egypt,et brachio extento,with a strong hand and an outstretched arm,in ingenti pavore,with a mighty terror,in signis atque portentis:with signs and wonders.

9et introduxit ad locum istum,And he led us into this place,et tradidit nobis terram lacte et melle manantem.and he delivered to us the land flowing with milk and honey.

10Et idcirco nunc offero primitias frugum terræ,And because of this,quam Dominus dedit mihi.I now offer the first fruits of the land which the Lord has given to me.’Et dimittes eas in conspectu Domini Dei tui,And you shall leave them in the sight of the Lord your God,et adorato Domino Deo tuo.and you shall adore the Lord your God.

11Et epulaberis in omnibus bonis,And you shall feast on all the good things which the Lord your God will give to you and to your house:quæ Dominus Deus tuus dederit tibi et domui tuæ,you,tu et Levites,and the Levite,et advena qui tecum est.and the new arrival who is with you.

12Quando compleveris decimam cunctarum frugum tuarum,When you will have completed the tithing of all your crops,anno decimarum tertio,in the third year of tithes,dabis Levitæ,you shall give it to the Levite,et advenæ,and to the new arrival,et pupillo et viduæ,and to the orphan,ut comedant intra portas tuas,and to the widow,et saturentur:so that they may eat within your gates and be satisfied.

13loquerisque in conspectu Domini Deo tui:And you shall say,Abstuli quod sanctificatum est de domo mea,in the sight of the Lord your God:et dedi illud Levitæ‘I have taken what was sanctified from my house,et advenæ,and I have given it to the Levite,et pupilloand to the new arrival,ac viduæ,and to the orphan and the widow,sicut jussisti mihi:just as you have commanded me.non præterivi mandata tua,I have not transgressed your commandments,nec sum oblitus imperii tui.nor have I forgotten your precepts.

14Non comedi ex eis in luctu meo,I have not eaten from these things in my grief,nec separavi ea in qualibet immunditia,nor have I separated them due to any kind of uncleanness,nec expendi ex his quidquam in re funebri.nor have I expended any of these things in funerals.Obedivi voci Domini Dei mei,I have obeyed the voice of the Lord my God,et feci omnia sicut præcepisti mihi.and I have done all things just as you have instructed me.

15Respice de sanctuario tuo,Look with favor from your sanctuaryet de excelso cælorum habitaculo,and from your lofty habitation amid the heavens,et benedic populo tuo Israël,and bless your people Israelet terræ,and the land which you have given to us,quam dedisti nobis,just as you swore to our fathers,sicut jurasti patribus nostris,a land flowing with milkterræ lacte et melle mananti.and honey.’

16Hodie Dominus Deus tuus præcepit tibi ut facias mandata hæc atque judicia:Today the Lord your God has instructed you to carry out these commandments and judgments,et custodias et impleas ex toto corde tuo,and to keep and fulfill them,et ex tota anima tua.with all your heart and with all your soul.

17Dominum elegisti hodie, ut sit tibi Deus,Today, you have chosen the Lord to be your God,et ambules in viis ejus,so that you may walk in his ways,et custodias cæremonias illius, et mandata atque judicia,and keep his ceremonies and commandments and judgments,et obedias ejus imperio.and obey his command.

18Et Dominus elegit te hodie ut sis ei populus peculiaris,Today, the Lord has chosen you, so that you may be his particular people,sicut locutus est tibi,just as he has spoken to you,et custodias omnia præcepta illius:and so that you may keep all his precepts,

19et faciat te excelsiorem cunctis gentibus quas creavit,and so that he may cause you to be more exalted than all the nations which he has created,in laudem,for the sake of his own praiseet nomen,and nameet gloriam suam:and glory,ut sis populus sanctus Domini Dei tui,in order that you may be a holy people for the Lord your God,sicut locutus est.just as he has spoken.”
