1In anno primo Cyri regis Persarum,In the first year of Cyrus, king of the Persians,ut compleretur verbum Domini ex ore Jeremiæ,the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus, king of the Persians,suscitavit Dominus spiritum Cyri regis Persarum:so that the word of the Lord from the mouth of Jeremiah would be fulfilled.et traduxit vocem in omni regno suo,And he sent out a voice, throughout his entire kingdom,etiam per scripturam,and also in writing,dicens:saying:
2Hæc dicit Cyrus rex Persarum:“Thus says Cyrus, the king of the Persians:Omnia regna terræ dedit mihi Dominus Deus cæli,The Lord, the God of heaven, has given all the kingdoms of the earth to me,et ipse præcepit mihi ut ædificarem ei domum in Jerusalem,and he himself has instructed me that I should build a house for him in Jerusalem,quæ est in Judæa.which is in Judea.
3Quis est in vobis de universo populo ejus?Who among you is from his entire people?Sit Deus illius cum ipso.May his God be with him.Ascendat in Jerusalem,Let him ascend to Jerusalem,quæ est in Judæa,which is in Judea,et ædificet domum Domini Dei Israël:and let him build the house of the Lord,ipse est Deus qui est in Jerusalem.the God of Israel. He is the God who is in Jerusalem.
4Et omnes reliqui in cunctis locis ubicumque habitant,And let all who remain, in all the places wherever they may live,adjuvent eum viri de loco suo argento et auro,assist him, each man from his place, with silver and gold,et substantia,and goods and cattle,et pecoribus, excepto quod voluntarie offerunt templo Dei,in addition to whatever they may offer voluntarily to the temple of God,quod est in Jerusalem.which is in Jerusalem.”
5Et surrexerunt principes patrum de JudaAnd the leaders of the fathers from Judah and from Benjamin,et Benjamin,with the priests,et sacerdotes,and the Levites,et Levitæ,and all those whose spirit was stirred by God,et omnis cujus Deus suscitavit spiritum,rose up,ut ascenderent ad ædificandum templum Domini,so that they might ascend to build the temple of the Lord,quod erat in Jerusalem.which was in Jerusalem.
6Universique qui erant in circuitu, adjuverunt manus eorum in vasis argenteis et aureis,And all those who were all around assisted their hands with vessels of silver and gold,in substantia et jumentis,with goods and cattle,in supellectili,with equipment,exceptis his quæ sponte obtulerant.in addition to whatever they had offered freely.
7Rex quoque Cyrus protulit vasa templi Domini,Likewise,quæ tulerat Nabuchodonosor de Jerusalem,king Cyrus offered the vessels of the temple of the Lord,et posuerat ea in templo dei sui.which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god.
8Protulit autem ea Cyrus rex Persarum per manum Mithridatis filii Gazabar, et annumeravit ea Sassabasar principi Juda.Now Cyrus, king of Persia, offered these by the hand of Mithredath, the son of the treasurer, and he counted these out to Sheshbazzar, the leader of Judah.
9Et hic est numerus eorum:And this is their number:phialæ aureæ triginta,thirty gold bowls,phialæ argenteæ mille,one thousand silver bowls,cultri viginti novem,twenty-nine knives,scyphi aurei triginta,thirty gold cups,
10scyphi argentei secundi quadringenti decem,four hundred ten of a second kind of silver cup,vasa alia mille.one thousand other vessels.
11Omnia vasa aurea et argentea quinque millia quadringenta:All the vessels of gold and silver were five thousand four hundred.universa tulit Sassabasar cum his qui ascendebant de transmigratione Babylonis in Jerusalem.Sheshbazzar brought all these, with those who ascended from the transmigration of Babylon, into Jerusalem.
