1Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen,And the Lord spoke to Moses,dicens:saying:

2Loquere filiis Israël,“Speak to the sons of Israel,ut tollant mihi primitias:so that they may take the first-fruits to me.ab omni homine qui offeret ultroneus, accipietis eas.You shall accept these from every man who offers of his own accord.

3Hæc sunt autem quæ accipere debeatis:Now these are the things that you must accept:aurum,Gold,et argentum,and silver,et æs,and brass,

4hyacinthum et purpuram,hyacinth and purple,coccumque bis tinctum,and twice-dyed scarlet,et byssum,and fine linen,pilos caprarum,the hair of goats,

5et pelles arietum rubricatas,and the skins of rams, dyed red,pellesque janthinas,and skins of violet,et ligna setim:and setim wood,

6oleum ad luminaria concinnanda:oil to prepare lights,aromata in unguentum,aromatics as ointmentset thymiamata boni odoris:and sweet-smelling incense,

7lapides onychinos, et gemmas ad ornandum ephod, ac rationale.onyx stones and gems to adorn the ephod as well as the breastplate.

8Facientque mihi sanctuarium,And they shall make a sanctuary for me,et habitabo in medio eorum:and I will live in their midst.

9juxta omnem similitudinem tabernaculi quod ostendam tibi,According to exact likeness of the tabernacle, and all of the vessels for its rituals,et omnium vasorum in cultum ejus.that I will reveal to you,Sicque facietis illud:so shall you make it.

10arcam de lignis setim compingite,Join together an ark of setim wood,cujus longitudo habeat duos et semis cubitos:whose length shall hold two and one half cubits;latitudo,the width,cubitum et dimidium:one and one half cubits;altitudo,the height,cubitum similiter ac semissem.likewise, one and one half cubits.

11Et deaurabis eam auro mundissimo intusAnd you shall overlay it with the finest gold,et foris:inside and out.faciesque supra,And over it,coronam auream per circuitum:you shall fashion a gold crown all around,

12et quatuor circulos aureos,and four gold rings,quos pones per quatuor arcæ angulos:which you shall set into the four corners of the ark.duo circuli sint in latere uno,Let two rings be on one sideet duo in altero.and two on the other.

13Facies quoque vectes de lignis setim,Likewise,et operies eos auro.you shall make bars of setim wood and cover them with gold.

14Inducesque per circulos qui sunt in arcæ lateribus,And you shall put them through the rings that are in the sides of the ark,ut portetur in eis:so that it may be carried on them.

15qui semper erunt in circulis,These must always be in the rings,nec umquam extrahentur ab eis.neither shall they ever be drawn out of them.

16Ponesque in arca testificationem quam dabo tibi.And you shall place the testimony, which I will give to you, in the ark.

17Facies et propitiatorium de auro mundissimo:You shall also make a propitiatory of the finest gold.duos cubitos et dimidium tenebit longitudo ejus,Its length shall hold two and one half cubits,et cubitum ac semissem latitudo.and the width, one and one half cubits.

18Duos quoque cherubim aureosLikewise,et productiles facies,you shall make two Cherubim of formed gold,ex utraque parte oraculi.on both sides of the oracle.

19Cherub unus sit in latere uno,Let one Cherub be on the one side,et alter in altero.and the other be on the other.

20Utrumque latus propitiatorii tegant expandentes alas, et operientes oraculum,And let them cover both sides of the propitiatory, spreading their wings and covering the oracle,respiciantque se mutuo versis vultibus in propitiatorium quo operienda est arca,and let them look out toward one another, their faces being turned toward the propitiatory, with which the ark is to be covered,

21in qua pones testimonium quod dabo tibi.in which you will place the testimony that I will give to you.

22Inde præcipiam,From there,et loquar ad te supra propitiatorium,I will warn you and speak to you,ac de medio duorum cherubim,above the propitiatory and from the middle of the two Cherubim,qui erunt super arcam testimonii,which will be over the ark of the testimony,cuncta quæ mandabo per te filiis Israël.about everything that I will command of the sons of Israel through you.

23Facies et mensam de lignis setim,You shall also make a table of setim wood,habentem duos cubitos longitudinis,having two cubits of length,et in latitudine cubitum,and one cubit in width,et in altitudine cubitum et semissem.and one cubit and one half cubits in height.

24Et inaurabis eam auro purissimo:And you shall overlay it with the purest gold.faciesque illi labium aureum per circuitum,And you shall make it with a gold lip all around,

25et ipsi labio coronam interrasilem altam quatuor digitis:and for the lip itself an engraved crown,et super illam,four fingers high,alteram coronam aureolam.and above it another little gold crown.

26Quatuor quoque circulos aureos præparabis, et pones eis in quatuor angulis ejusdem mensæ per singulos pedes.Likewise, you shall prepare four gold rings and set them in the four corners of the same table, over each foot.

27Subter coronam erunt circuli aurei,Under the crown,ut mittantur vectes per eos,there shall be gold rings,et possit mensa portari.so that the bars may be put through them and the table may be carried.

28Ipsos quoque vectes facies de lignis setim,Likewise, the bars themselves you shall make of setim wood,et circumdabis auro ad subvehendam mensam.and surround them with gold, to lift up the table.

29Parabis et acetabula,You shall also prepare small cups,ac phialas,as well as bowls,thuribula,censers,et cyathos,and measuring cups,in quibus offerenda sunt libamina,with which the libations shall be offered,ex auro purissimo.out of the purest gold.

30Et pones super mensam panes propositionis in conspectu meo semper.And you shall place upon the table the bread of the presence, in my sight always.

31Facies et candelabrum ductile de auro mundissimo,You shall also make a lampstand, formed from the finest gold,hastile ejus, et calamos,along with its stem and arms,scyphos, et sphærulas,its bowl and little spheres,ac lilia ex ipso procedentia.as well as the lilies proceeding from it.

32Sex calami egredientur de lateribus,Six branches shall go out from the sides:tres ex uno latere,three out of one sideet tres ex altero.and three out of the other.

33Tres scyphi quasi in nucis modum per calamos singulos,Three bowls, the size of nuts, shall be on each branch,sphærulaque simul,and a little sphere with it,et lilium:and a lily.et tres similiter scyphi instar nucis in calamo altero,And three similar bowls, in the likeness of nuts, shall be on the other branch,sphærulaque simul et lilium.and a little sphere with it, and a lily.Hoc erit opus sex calamorum,This shall be the form of the six branches,qui producendi sunt de hastili:which are to proceed from the stem.

34in ipso autem candelabro erunt quatuor scyphi in nucis modum, sphærulæque per singulos, et lilia.Then, in the lampstand itself, there shall be four bowls, the size of nuts, and each with little spheres and lilies.

35Sphærulæ sub duobus calamis per tria loca,Little spheres under two branches in three places,qui simul sex fiunt procedentes de hastili uno.which together make six, shall proceed from one of the stems.

36Et sphærulæ igitur et calami ex ipso erunt,Thus both the little spheres and the branches shall be made out of the same thing:universa ductilia de auro purissimo.entirely formed from the purest gold.

37Facies et lucernas septem,You shall also make seven lamps,et pones eas super candelabrum,and you shall place them upon the lampstand,ut luceant ex adverso.so that they may give light in every direction.

38Emunctoria quoque,Likewise, the candle snuffers,et ubi quæ emuncta sunt extinguantur,and the place where the candles will be extinguished,fiant de auro purissimo.shall be made from the purest gold.

39Omne pondus candelabri cum universis vasis suis habebit talentum auri purissimi.The entire weight of the candlestick, with all its parts, shall hold one talent of the purest gold.

40Inspice,Observe,et fac secundum exemplar quod tibi in monte monstratum est.and then make it according to the example that was shown to you on the mountain.”
