2Longitudo cortinæ unius habebit viginti octo cubitos:The length of one curtain shall have twenty-eight cubits.latitudo, quatuor cubitorum erit.The width shall be four cubits.Unius mensuræ fient universa tentoria.The entire set of curtains shall be of one measure.

3Quinque cortinæ sibi jungentur mutuo,Five curtains shall be joined to one another,et aliæ quinque nexu simili cohærebunt.and the other five shall be similarly coupled together.

4Ansulas hyacinthinas in lateribus ac summitatibus facies cortinarum,You shall make loops of hyacinth on the sides at the edges of the curtains,ut possint invicem copulari.so that they will be able to be joined to one another.

5Quinquagenas ansulas cortina habebit in utraque parte,A curtain shall have fifty loops on each of two sides,ita insertas ut ansa contra ansam veniat,inserted in such a manner that loop may come against loop,et altera alteri possit aptari.and one can be fitted to the other.

6FaciesYou shall also make fifty rings of gold,et quinquaginta circulos aureos quibus cortinarum vela jungenda sunt,with which the veils of the curtains are to be joined,ut unum tabernaculum fiat.so that it shall be one tabernacle.

7Facies et saga cilicina undecim, ad operiendum tectum tabernaculi.You shall also make eleven haircloth canopies to cover the roof of the tabernacle.

8Longitudo sagi unius habebit triginta cubitos,The length of one canopy shall hold thirty cubits,et latitudo,and the width,quatuor:four.æqua erit mensura sagorum omnium.The measure of all the canopies shall be equal.

9E quibus quinque junges seorsum,Five of these you shall join by themselves,et sex sibi mutuo copulabis,and six of these you shall couple to one another,ita ut sextum sagum in fronte tecti duplices.in such a manner as to double the sixth canopy at the front of the roof.

10Facies et quinquaginta ansas in ora sagi unius,You shall also make fifty loops along the edge of one canopy,ut conjungi cum altero queat,so that it may be able to be joined with the other,et quinquaginta ansas in ora sagi alterius,and fifty loops along the edge of the other canopy,ut cum altero copuletur.so that it may be coupled with the other.

11FaciesYou shall also make fifty brass buckles,et quinquaginta fibulas æneas quibus jungantur ansæ,with which the loops may be joined,ut unum ex omnibus operimentum fiat.so that there may be one covering out of all.

12Quod autem superfuerit in sagis quæ parantur tecto,Then what will be left over of the canopies which are prepared for the roof,id est unum sagum quod amplius est,that is, one canopy which is in excess,ex medietate ejus operies posteriora tabernaculi.from half of it you shall cover the back of the tabernacle.

13Et cubitus ex una parte pendebit,And one cubit will hang down on one side,et alter ex altera qui plus est in sagorum longitudine,and another on the other side, which is more than the length of the curtains,utrumque latus tabernaculi protegens.protecting both sides of the tabernacle.

14Facies et operimentum aliud tecto de pellibus arietum rubricatis:You shall also make another covering for the roof from the skins of rams,et super hoc rursum aliud operimentum de janthinis pellibus.dyed-red, and above that again, another covering of violet-colored skins.

15Facies et tabulas stantes tabernaculi de lignis setim,You shall also make the standing panels of the tabernacle from setim wood.

16quæ singulæ denos cubitos in longitudine habeant,Of these, each shall have ten cubits in length,et in latitudine singulos ac semissem.and in width, one and one half.

17In lateribus tabulæ,At the sides of the panels,duæ incastraturæ fient,there shall be made two dovetails,quibus tabula alteri tabulæ connectatur:by which one panel may be connected to another panel;atque in hunc modum cunctæ tabulæ parabuntur.and in this way all the panels shall be prepared.

18Quarum viginti erunt in latere meridiano quod vergit ad austrum.Of these, twenty shall be at the meridian, which lies toward the south.

19Quibus quadraginta bases argenteas fundes,For these, you shall cast forty bases of silver,ut binæ bases singulis tabulis per duos angulos subjiciantur.so that two bases will lie under each panel at its two corners.

20In latere quoque secundo tabernaculi quod vergit ad aquilonem,Likewise, at the second side of the tabernacle, which lies to the north,viginti tabulæ erunt,there shall be twenty panels,

21quadraginta habentes bases argenteas,having forty bases of silver;binæ bases singulis tabulis supponentur.two bases shall support each panel.

22Ad occidentalem vero plagam tabernaculi facies sex tabulas,Truly, toward the western part of the tabernacle, you shall make six panels,

23et rursum alias duas quæ in angulis erigantur post tergum tabernaculi.and again another two, which will be raised at the corners, behind the back of the tabernacle.

24Eruntque conjunctæ a deorsum usque sursum,And these shall be joined together from bottom to top,et una omnes compago retinebit.and one joint shall retain them all.Duabus quoque tabulis quæ in angulis ponendæ sunt,Likewise, two of the panels, which will be set at the corners,similis junctura servabitur.shall be served by similar joints.

25Et erunt simul tabulæ octo, bases earum argenteæ sedecim,And together these will be eight panels, and their bases of silver,duabus basibus per unam tabulam supputatis.sixteen, counting two bases for each panel.

26FaciesYou shall also make five bars of setim wood,et vectes de lignis setim quinque ad continendas tabulas in uno latere tabernaculi,to connect the panels on one side of the tabernacle,

27et quinque alios in altero,and five others on the other side,et ejusdem numeri ad occidentalem plagam:and the same number toward the western part.

28qui mittentur per medias tabulas a summo usque ad summum.These shall be set along the middle of the panels, from one end all the way to the other end.

29Ipsas quoque tabulas deaurabis,Likewise, the panels themselves you shall overlay with gold,et fundes in eis annulos aureos per quos vectes tabulata contineant:and you shall establish rings of gold in them, by which the bars of the panels may be connected.quos operies laminis aureis.These you shall cover with layers of gold.

30Et eriges tabernaculum juxta exemplar quod tibi in monte monstratum est.And you shall raise the tabernacle according to the example which was shown to you on the mountain.

31Facies et velum de hyacintho,You shall also make a veil of hyacinth,et purpura,and purple,coccoque bis tincto,and twice-dyed scarlet,et bysso retorta,and fine twisted linen,opere plumario et pulchra varietate contextum:wrought with a diversity of continuous and beautiful embroidery.

32quod appendes ante quatuor columnas de lignis setim,And you shall suspend it before four columns of setim wood,quæ ipsæ quidem deauratæ erunt,which themselves certainly shall be overlaid with gold,et habebunt capita aurea,and have heads of gold,sed bases argenteas.but bases of silver.

33Inseretur autem velum per circulos,Then the veil shall be inserted through the rings.intra quod pones arcam testimonii,Beyond the veil,quo et sanctuarium,you shall place the ark of the testimony,et sanctuarii sanctuaria dividentur.where both the Sanctuary and the Sanctuary of Sanctuaries shall be divided.

34PonesAnd you shall place the propitiatory over the ark of the testimony,et propitiatorium super arcam testimonii in Sancto sanctorum,in the Holy of Holies.

35mensamque extra velum,And the table shall be outside the veil.et contra mensam candelabrum in latere tabernaculi meridiano:And opposite the table shall be the lampstand, in the meridian of the tabernacle.mensa enim stabit in parte aquilonis.For the table shall stand at the north side.

36Facies et tentorium in introitu tabernaculi de hyacintho,You shall also make a tent at the entrance of the tabernacle from hyacinth,et purpura,and purple,coccoque bis tincto,and twice-dyed scarlet,et bysso retorta,and fine twisted linen,opere plumarii.wrought with embroidery.

37Et quinque columnas deaurabis lignorum setim,And you shall overlay with gold five columns of setim wood,ante quas ducetur tentorium:over which the tent shall be drawn.quarum erunt capita aurea,The heads of these shall be of gold,et bases æneæ.and the bases of brass.”
