²Et ascendet sicut virgultum coram eo,And he will rise up like a tender plant in his sight,et sicut radix de terra sitienti.and like a root from the thirsty ground.Non est species ei,There is no beautifulneque decor,or stately appearance in him.et vidimus eum,For we looked upon him,et non erat aspectus,and there was no aspect,et desideravimus eum:such that we would desire him.

⁴Vere languores nostros ipse tulit,Truly,et dolores nostros ipse portavit;he has taken away our weaknesses,et nos putavimus eum quasi leprosum,and he himself has carried our sorrows.et percussum a Deo,And we thought of him as if he were a leper,et humiliatum.or as if he had been struck by God and humiliated.

⁷Oblatus est quia ipse voluit,He was offered up, because it was his own will.et non aperuit os suum;And he did not open his mouth.sicut ovis ad occisionem ducetur,He will be led like a sheep to the slaughter.et quasi agnus coram tondente se obmutescet,And he will be mute like a lamb before his shearer.et non aperiet os suum.For he will not open his mouth.

⁹Et dabit impios pro sepultura,And he will be given a place with the impious for his burial,et divitem pro morte sua,and with the rich for his death,eo quod iniquitatem non fecerit,though he has done no iniquity,neque dolus fuerit in ore ejus.nor was deceit in his mouth.

¹⁰Et Dominus voluit conterere eum in infirmitate.But it was the will of the Lord to crush him with infirmity.Si posuerit pro peccato animam suam,If he lays down his life because of sin,videbit semen longævum,he will see offspring with long lives,et voluntas Domini in manu ejus dirigetur.and the will of the Lord will be directed by his hand.
