Respondens autem Baldad Suhites, dixit:But Baldad the Suhite responded by saying:
Usque ad quem finem verba jactabitis? How long will you throw around words?intelligite prius,Understand first,et sic loquamur.and then let us speak.
Quare reputati sumus ut jumenta,Why have we been treated like mules,et sorduimus coram vobis?as if we were unworthy before you?
Qui perdis animam tuam in furore tuo,You, who ruins your own soul in your fury, numquid propter te derelinquetur terra, will the earth be forsaken because of you,et transferentur rupes de loco suo?and will the cliffs be moved from their place?
Nonne lux impii extinguetur,Will not the light of the impious be put out,nec splendebit flamma ignis ejus?and the flame of his fire refuse to shine?
Lux obtenebrescet in tabernaculo illius,Light will become darkness in his tabernacle,et lucerna quæ super eum est extinguetur.and the lamp that is over him will be extinguished.
Arctabuntur gressus virtutis ejus,His strong steps will be constrained,et præcipitabit eum consilium suum.and his own counsel will cast him down uncontrollably.
Immisit enim in rete pedes suos,For he has caused his own feet to go into a net,et in maculis ejus ambulat.and he has walked into its web.
Tenebitur planta illius laqueo,His heel will be held in a snare,et exardescet contra eum sitis.and thirst will rage against him.
Abscondita est in terra pedica ejus,A trap has been hidden for him in the earth,et decipula illius super semitam.and a decoy, along his path.
Undique terrebunt eum formidines,Horrifying things will terrify him everywhereet involvent pedes ejus.and will entangle his feet.
Attenuetur fame robur ejus,Let his strength be diminished by famine,et inedia invadat costas illius.and let starvation invade his ribs.
Devoret pulchritudinem cutis ejus;Let it devour the beauty of his skin;consumat brachia illius primogenita mors.let the ancient death consume his arms.
Avellatur de tabernaculo suo fiducia ejus,Let his confidence be torn away from his tabernacle,et calcet super eum, quasi rex, interitus.and let ruin trample over him like a king.
Habitent in tabernaculo illius socii ejus qui non est;Let the companions of he who is not, dwell in his tabernacle;aspergatur in tabernaculo ejus sulphur.let brimstone rain down upon his tabernacle.
Deorsum radices ejus siccentur:Let his roots be dried up from beneath him, sursum autem atteratur messis ejus.and his harvest be crushed from above.
Memoria illius pereat de terra,Let the memory of him perish from the earth,et non celebretur nomen ejus in plateis.and let not his name be celebrated in the streets.
Expellet eum de luce in tenebras,He will expel him from light into darkness,et de orbe transferet eum.and he will remove him from the world.
Non erit semen ejus,Neither his offspring, neque progenies in populo suo,nor his descendants, will exist among his people, nec ullæ reliquiæ in regionibus ejus.nor will there be any remnants in his country.
In die ejus stupebunt novissimi,The last will be astonished at his day,et primos invadet horror.and the first will be overcome with horror.
Hæc sunt ergo tabernacula iniqui,And so, these are the tabernacles of the sinful,et iste locus ejus qui ignorat Deum.and this the place of he who does not know God.
