Quia ecce in diebus illis,For,et in tempore illo, behold, cum convertero captivitatem Judain those days and in that time,et Jerusalem, when I will have converted the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

congregabo omnes gentes,I will gather all the Gentiles,et deducam eas in vallem Josaphat;and will lead them into the valley of Jehoshaphat.et disceptabo cum eis ibi super populo meo,And there I will dispute with them over my people,et hæreditate mea Israël,and over Israel, quos disperserunt in nationibus,my inheritance,et terram meam diviserunt.for they have scattered them among the nations and have divided my land.

Et super populum meum miserunt sortem; And they have cast lots over my people;et posuerunt puerum in prostibulo, and the boy they have placed in the brothel,et puellam vendiderunt pro vino ut biberent.and the girl they have sold for wine, so that they might drink.

Verum quid mihiTruly,et vobis, what is there between you and me,TyrusTyre and Sidon and all the distant places of the Philistines?et Sidon,How will you take vengeance on me?et omnis terminus Palæstinorum? And if you were to revenge yourselves against me,numquid ultionem vos reddetis mihi?I would deliver a repayment to you,et si ulciscimini vos contra me,quickly and soon, cito velociter reddam vicissitudinem vobis super caput vestrum.upon your head.

Argentum enim meum et aurum tulistis,For you have carried away my silver and gold.et desiderabilia mea et pulcherrima intulistis in delubra vestra. And my desirable and most beautiful, you have taken into your shrines.

Et filios Juda et filios Jerusalem vendidistis filiis Græcorum,And you, sons of Judah and sons of Jerusalem, you have sold the sons of the Greeks,ut longe faceretis eos de finibus suis.so that you might drive them far from their own territory.

Ecce ego suscitabo eos de loco in quo vendidistis eos,Behold, I will raise them up from the place into which you have sold them,et convertam retributionem vestram in caput vestrum.and I will turn back your retribution on your own head.

Et vendam filios vestros et filias vestras in manibus filiorum Juda,And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the sons of Judah,et venundabunt eos Sabæis,and they will sell them to the Sabeans, genti longinquæ,a distant nation, quia Dominus locutus est.for the Lord has spoken.

Clamate hoc in gentibus, sanctificate bellum,Proclaim this among the Gentiles: “Sanctify a war, suscitate robustos:raise up the strong.accedant,Approach, ascendant omnes viri bellatores.ascend, all men of war.

Concidite aratra vestra in gladios,Cut your ploughs into swordset ligones vestros in lanceas.and your hoes into spears.Infirmus dicat:Let the weak say,Quia fortis ego sum.‘For I am strong.’

Erumpite,Break outet venite, and advance, omnes gentes de circuitu, all nations of the world,et congregamini;and gather together.ibi occumbere faciet Dominus robustos tuos. There the Lord will cause all your strong ones to meet death.”

Consurgant,Let them arise and ascend to the valley of Jehoshaphat.et ascendant gentes in vallem Josaphat,For there I will sit, quia ibi sedebo ut judicem omnes gentes in circuitu.so as to judge all the nations of the world.

Mittite falces,Send forth the sickles, quoniam maturavit messis;because the harvest has matured.venite,Advanceet descendite, and descend, quia plenum est torcular, for the press is full, exuberant torcularia:the pressing room is overflowing.quia multiplicata est malitia eorum. For their malice has been increasing.

Populi,Nations, populi, in valle concisionis, nations in the valley of being cut to pieces:quia juxta est dies Domini in valle concisionis.for the day of the Lord fittingly takes place in the valley of being cut to pieces.

Sol et luna obtenebrati sunt,The sun and the moon have been darkened,et stellæ retraxerunt splendorem suum.and the stars have withdrawn their splendor.

Et Dominus de Sion rugiet, et de Jerusalem dabit vocem suam,And the Lord will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem.et movebuntur cæli et terra; And the heavens and the earth will be moved.et Dominus spes populi sui, et fortitudo filiorum Israël.And the Lord will be the hope of his people and the strength of the sons of Israel.

Et scietis quia ego Dominus Deus vester,And you will know that I am the Lord your God,habitans in Sion monte sancto meo;dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain.et erit Jerusalem sancta,And Jerusalem will be holy,et alieni non transibunt per eam amplius.and strangers will not cross through it anymore.

Et erit in die illa:And it will happen, in that day, stillabunt montes dulcedinem, that the mountains will drip sweetness,et colles fluent lacte, and the hills will flow with milk.et per omnes rivos Juda ibunt aquæ;And the waters will pass through all the rivers of Judah.et fons de domo Domini egredietur,And a fountain will go forth from the house of the Lord,et irrigabit torrentem spinarum.and it will irrigate the desert of thorns.

Ægyptus in desolationem erit,Egypt will be in desolation,et Idumæa in desertum perditionis, and Edom will be a wilderness destroyed, pro eo quod inique egerint in filios Juda, because of what they have unfairly done to the sons of Judah,et effuderint sanguinem innocentem in terra sua.and because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

Et Judæa in æternum habitabitur,And Judea will be inhabited forever,et Jerusalem in generationem et generationem.and Jerusalem for generation upon generation.

Et mundabo sanguinem eorum,And I will cleanse their blood, quem non mundaveram;which I had not cleansed.et Dominus commorabitur in Sion. And the Lord will remain in Zion.
