⁵Et timuerunt nautæ,And the mariners were afraid,et clamaverunt viri ad deum suum,and the men cried out to their god.et miserunt vasa quæ erant in navi, in mare, ut alleviaretur ab eis;And they threw the containers that were in the ship into the sea in order to lighten it of them.et Jonas descendit ad interiora navis,And Jonah went down into the interior of the ship,et dormiebat sopore gravi.and he fell into a painful deep sleep.
