1Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen,And the Lord spoke to Moses,dicens:saying:

2Loquere ad filios Israël,“Speak to the sons of Israel,et dices ad eos:and you shall say to them:Vir,A mansive mulier,or a woman,cum fecerint votum ut sanctificentur,when they have made a vow so that they may be sanctified,et se voluerint Domino consecrare:and when they are willing to consecrate themselves to the Lord,

3a vino,shall abstain from wineet omni quod inebriare potest,and from anything which is able to inebriate.abstinebunt.They shall not drink vinegar made from wineAcetum ex vino,or from any other drink,et ex qualibet alia potione,nor anything pressed from the grape.et quidquid de uva exprimitur,They shall not eat grapes,non bibent:neither freshuvas recentes siccasque non comedentnor dried.

4cunctis diebus quibus ex voto Domino consecrantur:During all the days that they are consecrated to the Lord by vow,quidquid ex vinea esse potest,they shall not eat whatever may be from the vineyard,ab uva passa usque ad acinum non comedent.from raisins, even to grape seeds.

5Omni tempore separationis suæ novacula non transibit per caput ejus usque ad completum diem,During all the time of his separation, no razor shall pass over his head,quo Domino consecratur.even until the completion of the day when he is consecrated to the Lord.Sanctus erit,He shall be holy,crescente cæsarie capitis ejus.letting the hair of his head grow long.

6Omni tempore consecrationis suæ,During all the time of his consecration,super mortuum non ingredietur,he shall not enter because of a death,

7nec super patris quidem et matris et fratris sororisque funere contaminabitur, quia consecratio Dei sui super caput ejus est.nor shall he contaminate himself, even over the funeral of his father, or his mother, or his brother, or his sister. For the consecration of his God is upon his head.

8Omnibus diebus separationis suæ sanctus erit Domino.During all the days of his separation, he shall be holy to the Lord.

9Sin autem mortuus fuerit subito quispiam coram eo,But if anyone will have died unexpectedly before him,polluetur caput consecrationis ejus:the head of his consecration shall be polluted,quod radet illico in eadem die purgationis suæ,and he shall shave it in that very place, on the same day of his purification,et rursum septima.and again on the seventh day.

10In octava autem die offeret duos turtures,Then, on the eighth day, he shall offer two turtledoves or two young pigeons,vel duos pullos columbæ sacerdoti in introitu fœderis testimonii.to the priest at the entrance to the covenant of the testimony.

11Facietque sacerdos unum pro peccato,And the priest shall effect one for sin,et alterum in holocaustum,and the other as a holocaust,et deprecabitur pro eo,and he shall pray for him,quia peccavit super mortuo:because he has sinned on account of the dead.sanctificabitque caput ejus in die illo:And he shall sanctify his head on that day.

12et consecrabit Domino dies separationis illius,And he shall consecrate to the Lord the days of his separation,offerens agnum anniculum pro peccato:offering a one-year-old lamb for sin,ita tamen ut dies priores irriti fiant,yet in such a manner that the former days will be made null and void,quoniam polluta est sanctificatio ejus.because his sanctification was polluted.

13Ista est lex consecrationis.This is the law of consecration.Cum dies, quos ex voto decreverat, complebuntur,When the days that he had decreed by vow have been completed,adducet eum ad ostium tabernaculi fœderis,he shall bring him to the door of the tabernacle of the covenant,

14et offeret oblationes ejus Domino,and he shall offer his oblation to the Lord:agnum anniculum immaculatum in holocaustum,an immaculate one-year-old male lamb as a holocaust,et ovem anniculam immaculatam pro peccato,and an immaculate one-year-old female lamb for sin,et arietem immaculatum,and an immaculate ram,hostiam pacificam,a peace-offering victim,

15canistrum quoque panum azymorum qui conspersi sint oleo,also, a basket of unleavened bread, which has been sprinkled with oil,et lagana absque fermento uncta oleo,and cakes without leaven, anointed with oil,ac libamina singulorum:as well as the libations of each one.

16quæ offeret sacerdos coram Domino,And the priest shall offer them before the Lord,et faciet tam pro peccato,and he shall perform both the sin offeringquam in holocaustum.and the holocaust.

17Arietem vero immolabit hostiam pacificam Domino,Yet truly, the ram he shall immolate as a peace-offering victim to the Lord,offerens simul canistrum azymorum,offering at the same time the basket of unleavened bread,et libamenta quæ ex more debentur.and the libations which are required by custom.

18Tunc radetur nazaræus ante ostium tabernaculi fœderis cæsarie consecrationis suæ:Then the Nazarite shall be shaved of the long hair of his consecration, before the door of the tabernacle of the covenant.tolletque capillos ejus, et ponet super ignem,And he shall take his hair, and he shall place it upon the fire,qui est suppositus sacrificio pacificorum:which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.

19et armum coctum arietis,And he shall take the cooked shoulder of the ram,tortamque absque fermento unam de canistro,and one twist of bread without leaven from the basket,et laganum azymum unum,and one unleavened cake,et tradet in manus nazaræi,and he shall deliver them into the hands of the Nazarite,postquam rasum fuerit caput ejus.after his head has been shaven.

20Susceptaque rursum ab eo,And receiving them again from him,elevabit in conspectu Domini:he shall elevate them in the sight of the Lord.et sanctificata sacerdotis erunt,And having been sanctified, these shall be for the priest,sicut pectusculum,as also the breast,quod separari jussum est,which was ordered to be separated,et femur.and the leg.Post hæc,After this,potest bibere nazaræus vinum.the Nazarite is able to drink wine.

21Ista est lex nazaræi,This is the law of the Nazarite,cum voverit oblationem suam Domino tempore consecrationis suæ,when he has vowed his oblation to the Lord in the time of his consecration,exceptis his,aside from those things which his hand shall find.quæ invenerit manus ejus:According to what he had vowed in his mind,juxta quod mente devoverat,so shall he do,ita faciet ad perfectionem sanctificationis suæ.to the perfection of his sanctification.”

22Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen,And the Lord spoke to Moses,dicens:saying:

23Loquere Aaron et filiis ejus:“Say to Aaron and his sons:Sic benedicetis filiis Israël,Thus shall you bless the sons of Israel,et dicetis eis:and you shall say to them:

24Benedicat tibi Dominus,‘May the Lord bless youet custodiat te.and keep you.

25Ostendat Dominus faciem suam tibi,May the Lord reveal his face to youet misereatur tui.and take pity on you.

26Convertat Dominus vultum suum ad te,May the Lord turn his countenance toward youet det tibi pacem.and grant peace to you.’

27Invocabuntque nomen meum super filios Israël,And they shall invoke my name over the sons of Israel,et ego benedicam eis.and I will bless them.”
