Beatus vir qui non abiit in consilio impiorum,Blessed is the man who has not followed the counsel of the impious,et in via peccatorum non stetit, and has not remained in the way of sinners,et in cathedra pestilentiæ non sedit;and has not sat in the chair of pestilence.
sed in lege Domini voluntas ejus,But his will is with the law of the Lord,et in lege ejus meditabitur dieand he will meditate on his law,ac nocte.day and night.
Et erit tamquam lignum quod plantatum est secus decursus aquarum,And he will be like a tree that has been planted beside running waters, quod fructum suum dabit in tempore suo:which will provide its fruit in its time,et folium ejus non defluet;and its leaf will not fall away,et omnia quæcumque faciet prosperabuntur.and all things whatsoever that he does will prosper.
Non sic impii,Not so the impious, non sic;not so.sed tamquam pulvis quem projicit ventus a facie terræ.For they are like the dust that the wind casts along the face of the earth.
Ideo non resurgent impii in judicio,Therefore, the impious will not prevail again in judgment, neque peccatores in concilio justorum:nor sinners in the council of the just.
quoniam novit Dominus viam justorum,For the Lord knows the way of the just.et iter impiorum peribit. And the path of the impious will pass away.
