Tituli inscriptio,The inscription of a title:ipsi David.of David himself.Conserva me,Preserve me,Domine,O Lord,quoniam speravi in te.because I have hoped in you.
Dixi Domino:I have said to the Lord:Deus meus es tu,“You are my God,quoniam bonorum meorum non eges.so you have no need of my goodness.”
Sanctis qui sunt in terra ejus,As for the saints, who are in his land:mirificavit omnes voluntates meas in eis.he has made all my desires wonderful in them.
Multiplicatæ sunt infirmitates eorum:Their infirmities have been multiplied; after this, postea acceleraverunt.they acted more quickly.Non congregabo conventicula eorum de sanguinibus,I will not gather for their convocations of blood, nec memor ero nominum eorum per labia mea.nor will I remember their names with my lips.
Dominus pars hæreditatis meæ,The Lord is the portion of my inheritanceet calicis mei:and my cup.tu es qui restitues hæreditatem meam mihi.It is you who will restore my inheritance to me.
Funes ceciderunt mihi in præclaris; The lots have fallen upon me with clarity. And,etenim hæreditas mea præclara est mihi.indeed, my inheritance has been very clear to me.
Benedicam Dominum qui tribuit mihi intellectum;I will bless the Lord, who has bestowed understanding upon me.insuper et usque ad noctem increpuerunt me renes mei. Moreover, my temperament has also corrected me, even through the night.
Providebam Dominum in conspectu meo semper:I have made provision for the Lord always in my sight.quoniam a dextris est mihi,For he is at my right hand,ne commovear.so that I may not be disturbed.
Propter hoc lætatum est cor meum,Because of this, my heart has been joyful,et exsultavit lingua mea;and my tongue has exulted.insuper et caro mea requiescet in spe. Moreover, even my body will rest in hope.
Quoniam non derelinques animam meam in inferno, nec dabis sanctum tuum videre corruptionem. For you will not abandon my soul to Hell,Notas mihi fecisti vias vitæ; adimplebis me lætitia cum vultu tuo: delectationes in dextera tua usque in finem.nor will you allow your holy one to see corruption.
You have made known to me the ways of life; you will fill me with joy by your countenance. At your right hand are delights, even to the end.
