Psalmus David,A Psalm of David,in rememorationem de sabbato.in commemoration of the Sabbath.

Domine,O Lord,ne in furore tuo arguas me,do not rebuke me in your fury, neque in ira tua corripias me:nor chastise me in your wrath.

quoniam sagittæ tuæ infixæ sunt mihi,For your arrows have been driven into me,et confirmasti super me manum tuam.and your hand has been confirmed over me.

Non est sanitas in carne mea, a facie iræ tuæ;There is no health in my flesh before the face of your wrath.non est pax ossibus meis, a facie peccatorum meorum:There is no peace for my bones before the face of my sins.

quoniam iniquitates meæ supergressæ sunt caput meum,For my iniquities have walked over my head,et sicut onus grave gravatæ sunt super me.and they have been like a heavy burden weighing upon me.

Putruerunt et corruptæ sunt cicatrices meæ,My sores have putrefieda facie insipientiæ meæ.and been corrupted before the face of my foolishness.

Miser factus sum et curvatus sum usque in finem;I have become miserable, and I have been bent down, even to the end.tota die contristatus ingrediebar.I have walked with contrition all day long.

Quoniam lumbi mei impleti sunt illusionibus,For my loins have been filled with illusions,et non est sanitas in carne mea.and there is no health in my flesh.

Afflictus sum,I have been afflictedet humiliatus sum nimis;and greatly humbled.rugiebam a gemitu cordis mei.I bellowed from the groaning of my heart.

Domine,O Lord, ante te omne desiderium meum, all my desire is before you,et gemitus meus a te non est absconditus.and my groaning before you has not been hidden.

Cor meum conturbatum est;My heart has been disturbed.dereliquit me virtus mea,My strength has abandoned me,et lumen oculorum meorum, and the light of my eyes has abandoned me,et ipsum non est mecum.and it is not with me.

Amici mei et proximi mei adversum me appropinquaverunt,My friendset steterunt;and my neighbors have drawn nearet qui juxta me erant, and stood against me.de longe steterunt:And those who were next to me stood far apart.et vim faciebant qui quærebant animam meam. And those who sought my soul used violence.

Et qui inquirebant mala mihi, locuti sunt vanitates,And those who sought evil accusations against me were speaking emptiness.et dolos tota die meditabantur. And they practiced deceitfulness all day long.

Ego autem, tamquam surdus,But, like someone deaf, non audiebam;I did not hear.et sicut mutus non aperiens os suum. And I was like someone mute, not opening his mouth.

Et factus sum sicut homo non audiens,And I became like a man who does not hear,et non habens in ore suo redargutiones.and who has no reproofs in his mouth.

Quoniam in te,For in you,Domine,Lord, speravi;I have hoped.tu exaudies me,You will listen to me,Domine Deus meus.O Lord my God.

Quia dixi:For I said,Nequando supergaudeant mihi inimici mei;“Lest at any time, my enemies might rejoice over me,”et dum commoventur pedes mei, and, “While my feet are being shaken, super me magna locuti sunt.they have spoken great things against me.”

Quoniam ego in flagella paratus sum,For I have been prepared for scourges,et dolor meus in conspectu meo semper.and my sorrow is ever before me.

Quoniam iniquitatem meam annuntiabo,For I will announce my iniquity,et cogitabo pro peccato meo.and I will think about my sin.

Inimici autem mei vivunt,But my enemies live,et confirmati sunt super me:and they have been stronger than me.et multiplicati sunt qui oderunt me inique. And those who have wrongfully hated me have been multiplied.

Qui retribuunt mala pro bonis detrahebant mihi,Those who render evil for good have dragged me down, quoniam sequebar bonitatem.because I followed goodness.

Ne derelinquas me,Do not forsake me,Domine Deus meus;O Lord my God.ne discesseris a me.Do not depart from me.

Intende in adjutorium meum,Be attentive to my help, O Lord,Domine Deus salutis meæ.the God of my salvation.
