In finem,Unto the end.pro Idithun.For Jeduthun.Psalmus David.A Psalm of David.
Nonne Deo subjecta erit anima mea? Will my soul not be subject to God?ab ipso enim salutare meum. For from him is my salvation.
Nam et ipse Deus meus et salutaris meus;Yes, he himself is my God and my salvation.susceptor meus,He is my supporter;non movebor amplius.I will be moved no more.
Quousque irruitis in hominem? How is it that you rush against a man?interficitis universi vos,Every one of you puts to death, tamquam parieti inclinatoas if you were pulling down a ruined wall,et maceriæ depulsæ.leaning over and falling apart.
Verumtamen pretium meum cogitaverunt repellere; So, truly, they intended to reject my price.cucurri in siti:I ran in thirst.ore suo benedicebant, et corde suo maledicebant. They blessed with their mouth and cursed with their heart.
Verumtamen Deo subjecta esto, anima mea, quoniam ab ipso patientia mea:Yet, truly, my soul will be subject to God. For from him is my patience.
quia ipse Deus meus et salvator meus,For he is my God and my Savior.adjutor meus,He is my helper;non emigrabo.I will not be expelled.
In Deo salutare meum et gloria mea;In God is my salvation and my glory.Deus auxilii mei,He is the God of my help,et spes mea in Deo est.and my hope is in God.
Sperate in eo,All peoples gathered together:omnis congregatio populi;trust in him.effundite coram illo corda vestra:Pour out your hearts in his sight.Deus adjutor noster in æternum.God is our helper for eternity.
Verumtamen vani filii hominum,So, truly, the sons of men are untrustworthy.mendaces filii hominum in stateris,The sons of men are liars in the scales, so that,ut decipiant ipsi de vanitate in idipsum.by emptiness, they may deceive among themselves.
Nolite sperare in iniquitate,Do not trust in iniquity,et rapinas nolite concupiscere;and do not desire plunder.divitiæ si affluant,If riches flow toward you, nolite cor apponere.do not be willing to set your heart on them.
Semel locutus est Deus;God has spoken once.duo hæc audivi:I have heard two things:quia potestas Dei est, that power belongs to God,
et tibi, Domine, misericordia:and that mercy belongs to you, quia tu reddes unicuique juxta opera sua.O Lord. For you will repay each one according to his works.
