Canticum Psalmi Asaph.A Canticle Psalm of Asaph.
Deus,O God,quis similis erit tibi?who will ever be like you?ne taceas,Do not be silent, neque compescaris, and do not be unmoved,Deus:O God.
quoniam ecce inimici tui sonuerunt,For behold, your enemies have sounded off,et qui oderunt te extulerunt caput.and those who hate you have carried out a head.
Super populum tuum malignaverunt consilium,They have acted with malice in counsel over your people,et cogitaverunt adversus sanctos tuos.and they have plotted against your holy ones.
Dixerunt:They have said,Venite,“Come,et disperdamus eos de gente, let us scatter them from the nationset non memoretur nomen Israël ultra.and not allow the name of Israel to be remembered any longer.”
Quoniam cogitaverunt unanimiter; For they plotted unanimously.simul adversum te testamentum disposuerunt:Joined together against you, they ordained a covenant:
tabernacula Idumæorum et Ismahelitæ,the tabernacle of Edomites and Ishmaelites,Moab et Agareni, and Moab and the Hagarites,
Gebal,and Gebal,et Ammon,and Ammon,et Amalec;and Amalek,alienigenæ cum habitantibus Tyrum.the foreigners among the inhabitants of Tyre.
Etenim Assur venit cum illis:For even Assur comes with them.facti sunt in adjutorium filiis Lot.They have become the helpers of the sons of Lot.
Fac illis sicut Madian et Sisaræ,Do to them as you did to Midian and Sisera, sicut Jabin in torrente Cisson.just as to Jabin at the torrent of Kishon.
Disperierunt in Endor; They perished at Endor, facti sunt ut stercus terræ.and they became like the dung of the earth.
Pone principes eorum sicut Oreb,Set their leaders to be like Orebet Zeb,and Zeeb,et Zebee, and Zebahet Salmana:and Zalmunna:omnes principes eorum, all their leaders
qui dixerunt:who said,Hæreditate possideamus sanctuarium Dei.“Let us possess the Sanctuary of God for an inheritance.”
Deus meus,My God,pone illos ut rotam, set them like a wheel,et sicut stipulam ante faciem venti.and like stubble before the face of the wind.
Sicut ignis qui comburit silvam,Set them like a fire burning up the forest,et sicut flamma comburens montes, and like a flame burning up the mountains.
ita persequeris illos in tempestate tua,So will you pursue them in your tempest,et in ira tua turbabis eos.and disturb them in your wrath.
Imple facies eorum ignominia,Fill their faces with shame,et quærent nomen tuum, and they will seek your name,Domine.O Lord.
Erubescant, et conturbentur in sæculum sæculi,Let them be ashamed and troubled, from age to age,et confundantur, et pereant.and let them be confounded and perish.
Et cognoscant quia nomen tibi Dominus:And let them know that the Lord is your name.tu solus Altissimus in omni terra. You alone are the Most High in all the earth.
