1Oratio ipsi David.A Prayer of David himself.Inclina,Incline your ear,Domine,O Lord,aurem tuam et exaudi me,and hear me.quoniam inops et pauper sum ego.For I am needy and poor.

2Custodi animam meam,Preserve my soul,quoniam sanctus sum;for I am holy. My God,salvum fac servum tuum, Deus meus, sperantem in te.bring salvation to your servant who hopes in you.

3Miserere mei,O Lord,Domine,be merciful to me,quoniam ad te clamavi tota die;for I have cried out to you all day long.

4lætifica animam servi tui, quoniam ad te,Give joy to the soul of your servant,Domine, animam meam levavi.for I have lifted up my soul to you, Lord.

5Quoniam tu,For you are sweetDomine,and mild,suavis et mitis,Lord,et multæ misericordiæ omnibus invocantibus te.and plentiful in mercy to all who call upon you.

6Auribus percipe,Pay attention,Domine,Lord,orationem meam,to my prayer,et intende voci deprecationis meæ.and attend to the voice of my supplication.

7In die tribulationis meæ clamavi ad te,In the day of my tribulation, I cried out to you,quia exaudisti me.because you heeded me.

8Non est similis tui in diis,There is no one like you among the gods,Domine,O Lord,et non est secundum opera tua.and there is no one like you in your works.

9Omnes gentes quascumque fecisti venient,All the nations, which you have made,et adorabunt coram te,will draw near and adore in your presence,Domine,O Lord.et glorificabunt nomen tuum.And they will glorify your name.

10Quoniam magnus es tu,For you are great,et faciens mirabilia;and you perform wonders.tu es Deus solus.You alone are God.

11Deduc me,Lead me,Domine,O Lord,in via tua,in your way,et ingrediar in veritate tua;and I will walk in your truth.lætetur cor meum,May my heart rejoice,ut timeat nomen tuum.so that it will fear your name.

12Confitebor tibi,I will confess to you,Domine Deus meus,O Lord my God,in toto corde meo,with my whole heart.et glorificabo nomen tuum in æternum:And I will glorify your name in eternity.

13quia misericordia tua magna est super me,For your mercy toward me is great,et eruisti animam meam ex inferno inferiori.and you have rescued my soul from the lower part of Hell.

14Deus,O God,iniqui insurrexerunt super me,the iniquitous have risen up against me,et synagoga potentium quæsierunt animam meam:and the synagogue of the powerful have sought my soul,et non proposuerunt te in conspectu suo.and they have not placed you in their sight.

15Et tu,And you,Domine Deus, miserator et misericors;Lord God, are compassionate and merciful,patiens, et multæ misericordiæ, et verax.being patient and full of mercy and truthful.

16Respice in me,Look down upon meet miserere mei;and have mercy on me.da imperium tuum puero tuo,Grant your authority to your servant,et salvum fac filium ancillæ tuæ.and bring salvation to the son of your handmaid.

17Fac mecum signum in bonum,Make me a sign of what is good,ut videant qui oderunt me,so that those who hate me,et confundantur: quoniam tu,may look and be confounded.Domine,For you,adjuvisti me, et consolatus es me.O Lord, have helped me and consoled me.
