Laus cantici ipsi David. Venite,The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself.exsultemus Domino;Come, let us exult in the Lord.jubilemus Deo salutari nostro;Let us shout joyfully to God, our Savior.

præoccupemus faciem ejus in confessione,Let us anticipate his presence with confession,et in psalmis jubilemus ei:and let us sing joyfully to him with psalms.

quoniam Deus magnus Dominus,For the Lord is a great Godet rex magnus super omnes deos.and a great King over all gods.

Quia in manu ejus sunt omnes fines terræ,For in his hand are all the limits of the earth,et altitudines montium ipsius sunt;and the heights of the mountains are his.

quoniam ipsius est mare,For the sea is his,et ipse fecit illud, and he made it,et siccam manus ejus formaverunt.and his hands formed the dry land.

Venite,Come, adoremus, let us adoreet procidamus, and fall prostrate,et ploremus ante Dominum qui fecit nos:and let us weep before the Lord who made us.

quia ipse est Dominus Deus noster,For he is the Lord our God,et nos populus pascuæ ejus, and we are the people of his pastureet oves manus ejus.and the sheep of his hand.

Hodie si vocem ejus audieritis,If today you hear his voice, nolite obdurare corda vestraharden not your hearts:

sicut in irritatione,as in the provocation, secundum diem tentationis in deserto, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness, ubi tentaverunt me patres vestri:where your fathers tempted me;probaverunt me,they tested me,et viderunt opera mea.though they had seen my works.

Quadraginta annis offensus fui generationi illi,For forty years, I was offended by that generation,et dixi:and I said:Semper hi errant corde. These have always strayed in heart.

Et isti non cognoverunt vias meas:And these have not known my ways.ut juravi in ira mea:So I swore in my wrath:Si introibunt in requiem meam. They shall not enter into my rest.
