Et vidi:And I saw,et ecce Agnus stabat supra montem Sion, and behold,et cum eo centum quadraginta quatuor millia, the Lamb was standing above mount Zion, habentes nomen ejus, and with him were one hundred and forty-four thousand,et nomen Patris ejus scriptum in frontibus suis.having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.
Et audivi vocem de cælo,And I heard a voice from heaven, tamquam vocem aquarum multarum, like the voice of many waters,et tamquam vocem tonitrui magni: et vocem, and like the voice of a great thunder.quam audivi, sicut citharœdorum citharizantium in citharis suis. And the voice that I heard was like that of singers, while playing on their stringed instruments.
Et cantabant quasi canticum novum ante sedem, et ante quatuor animalia, et seniores:And they were singing what seemed like a new canticle before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders.et nemo poterat dicere canticum,And no one was able to recite the canticle, nisi illa centum quadraginta quatuor millia, except those one hundred and forty-four thousand, qui empti sunt de terra.who were redeemed from the earth.
Hi sunt, qui cum mulieribus non sunt coinquinati:These are the ones who were not defiled with women, virgines enim sunt.for they are Virgins.Hi sequuntur Agnum quocumque ierit. These follow the Lamb wherever he will go.Hi empti sunt ex hominibus primitiæ Deo, et Agno:These were redeemed from men as the first-fruits for God and for the Lamb.
et in ore eorum non est inventum mendacium:And in their mouth, no lie was found, sine macula enim sunt ante thronum Dei.for they are without flaw before the throne of God.
Et vidi alterum angelum volantem per medium cæli, habentem Evangelium æternum, ut evangelizaret sedentibus super terram, et super omnem gentem, et tribum, et linguam, et populum:And I saw another Angel, flying through the midst of heaven, holding the eternal Gospel, so as to evangelize those sitting upon the earth and those of every nation and tribe and language and people,
dicens magna voce:saying with a loud voice:Timete Dominum,“Fear the Lord,et date illi honorem, and give honor to him, quia venit hora judicii ejus:for the hour of his judgment has arrived.et adorate eum, qui fecit cælum,And worship him who made heaven and earth,et terram, mare, et fontes aquarum.the sea and the sources of water.”
Et alius angelus secutus est dicens:And another Angel followed, saying:Cecidit,“Fallen, cecidit Babylon illa magna:fallen is Babylon the great,quæ a vino iræ fornicationis suæ potavit omnes gentes.who inebriated all nations with the wine of her wrath and of fornication.”
Et tertius angelus secutus est illos,And the third Angel followed them, dicens voce magna:saying with a great voice:Si quis adoraverit bestiam,“If anyone has worshiped the beast,et imaginem ejus,or his image,et acceperit caracterem in fronte sua,or has received his character on his foreheadaut in manu sua:or on his hand,
et hic bibet de vino iræ Dei,he shall drink also from the wine of the wrath of God,quod mistum est mero in calice iræ ipsius, which has been mixed with strong wine in the cup of his wrath,et cruciabitur igne, and he shall be tortured with fireet sulphure in conspectu angelorum sanctorum, and sulphur in the sight of the holy Angelset ante conspectum Agni:and before the sight of the Lamb.
et fumus tormentorum eorum ascendet in sæcula sæculorum:And the smoke of their torments shall ascend forever and ever.nec habent requiem die ac nocte,And they shall have no rest, qui adoraverunt bestiam, day or night,et imaginem ejus, those who have worshiped the beast or his image,et si quis acceperit caracterem nominis ejus.or who have received the character of his name.”
Hic patientia sanctorum est,Here is the patient endurance of the Saints, qui custodiunt mandata Dei,those who keep the commandments of Godet fidem Jesu.and the faith of Jesus.
Et audivi vocem de cælo,And I heard a voice from heaven, dicentem mihi:saying to me:Scribe:“Write:Beati mortui qui in Domino moriuntur.Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord,Amodo jam dicit Spiritus, now and hereafter, says the Spirit,ut requiescant a laboribus suis: opera enim illorum sequuntur illos.so that they may find rest from their labors. For their works follow them.”
Et vidi:And I saw,et ecce nubem candidam, and behold, a white cloud.et super nubem sedentem similem Filio hominis,And upon the cloud was one sitting, resembling a son of man, habentem in capite suo coronam auream, having a crown of gold on his head,et in manu sua falcem acutam.and a sharp sickle in his hand.
Et alius angelus exivit de templo,And another Angel went forth from the temple, clamans voce magna ad sedentem super nubem:crying out in a great voice to the one sitting upon the cloud:Mitte falcem tuam,“Send out your sickleet mete, and reap!quia venit hora ut metatur,For the hour of reaping has arrived, quoniam aruit messis terræ.because the harvest of the earth has ripened.”
Et misit qui sedebat super nubem, falcem suam in terram,And the one who was sitting upon the cloud sent out his sickle to the earth,et demessa est terra.and the earth was reaped.
Et alius angelus exivit de templo, quod est in cælo,And another Angel went forth from the temple that is in heaven;habens et ipse falcem acutam.he also had a sharp sickle.
Et alius angelus exivit de altari,And another Angel went forth from the altar, qui habebat potestatem supra ignem:who held power over fire.et clamavit voce magna ad eum qui habebat falcem acutam,And he cried out in a great voice to him who held the sharp sickle, dicens:saying:Mitte falcem tuam acutam,“Send out your sharp sickle,et vindemia botros vineæ terræ:and harvest the clusters of grapes from the vineyard of the earth, quoniam maturæ sunt uvæ ejus.because its grapes have matured.”
Et misit angelus falcem suam acutam in terram,And the Angel sent out his sharp sickle to the earth,et vindemiavit vineam terræ,and he harvested the vineyard of the earth,et misit in lacum iræ Dei magnum:and he cast it into the great basin of the wrath of God.
et calcatus est lacus extra civitatem,And the basin was trodden beyond the city,et exivit sanguis de lacu usque ad frenos equorum per stadia mille sexcenta.and blood went forth from the basin, even as high as the harnesses of horses, out to one thousand six hundred stadia.
