Post hæc vidi quatuor angelos stantes super quatuor angulos terræ,After these things, I saw four Angels standing above the four corners of the earth, tenentes quatuor ventos terræ,holding the four winds of the earth,ne flarent super terram, neque super mare,so that they would not blow upon the earth, neque in ullam arborem.nor upon the sea, nor upon any tree.
Et vidi alterum angelum ascendentem ab ortu solis,And I saw another Angel ascending from the rising of the sun, habentem signum Dei vivi:having the Seal of the living God.et clamavit voce magna quatuor angelis,And he cried out, quibus datum est nocere terræin a great voice,et mari,to the four Angels to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea,
dicens:saying:Nolite nocere terræ,“Do no harm to the earth,et mari, nor to the sea, neque arboribus, nor to the trees, quoadusque signemus servos Dei nostri in frontibus eorum.until we seal the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
Et audivi numerum signatorum,And I heard the number of those who were sealed:centum quadraginta quatuor millia signati, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed,ex omni tribu filiorum Israël.out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.
Ex tribu Juda duodecim millia signati:From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed.ex tribu Ruben duodecim millia signati:From the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand were sealed.ex tribu Gad duodecim millia signati:From the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand were sealed.

Post hæc vidi turbam magnam,After these things, I saw a great crowd, quam dinumerare nemo poterat, which no one could number,ex omnibus gentibus, et tribubus, et populis, from all the nations and tribes and peoples and languages,et linguis: stantes ante thronum, et in conspectu Agni, standing before the throne and in sight of the Lamb, amicti stolis albis, clothed in white robes,et palmæ in manibus eorum:with palm branches in their hands.
et clamabant voce magna,And they cried out, with a great voice, dicentes: Salus Deo nostro, saying: “Salvation is from our God,qui sedet super thronum, et Agno.who sits upon the throne, and from the Lamb.”
Et omnes angeli stabant in circuitu throni,And all the Angels were standing around the throne,et seniorum, with the elderset quatuor animalium:and the four living creatures.et ceciderunt in conspectu throni in facies suas,And they fell upon their faces in view of the throne,et adoraverunt Deum, and they worshipped God,
dicentes: Amen. Benedictio, et claritas, et sapientia, et gratiarum actio, honor, et virtus, et fortitudo Deo nostro in sæcula sæculorum. Amen.saying: “Amen. Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving, honor and power and strength to our God, forever and ever. Amen.”
Et respondit unus de senioribus et dixit mihi:And one of the elders respondedHi,and said to me:qui amicti sunt stolis albis,“These ones who are clothed in white robes, qui sunt?who are they?et unde venerunt? And where did they come from?”
Et dixi illi:And I said to him,Domine mi,“My lord,tu scis.you know.”Et dixit mihi:And he said to me:Hi sunt, qui venerunt de tribulatione magna,“These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation,et laverunt stolas suas, et dealbaverunt eas in sanguine Agni.and they have washed their robes and have made them white by the blood of the Lamb.
Ideo sunt ante thronum Dei,Therefore, they are before the throne of God,et serviunt ei die ac nocte in templo ejus:and they serve him, day and night, in his temple.et qui sedet in throno, habitabit super illos:And the One who sits upon the throne shall dwell over them.
non esurient,They shall not hunger, neque sitient amplius, nor shall they thirst, anymore.nec cadet super illos sol, neque ullus æstus:Neither shall the sun beat down upon them, nor any heat.
quoniam Agnus,For the Lamb, qui in medio throni est,who is in the midst of the throne, reget illoswill rule over them,et deducet eos ad vitæ fontes aquarum, and he will lead them to the fountains of the waters of life.et absterget Deus omnem lacrimam ab oculis eorum. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
