1Facies et altare de lignis setim,“You shall also make an altar of setim wood,quod habebit quinque cubitus in longitudine,which will have five cubits in length,et totidem in latitudine,and the same in width,id est,that is,quadrum,four equal sides,et tres cubitos in altitudine.and three cubits in height.

2Cornua autem per quatuor angulos ex ipso erunt:Now there shall be horns at the four corners of it,et operies illud ære.and you shall cover it with brass.

3Faciesque in usus ejus lebetes ad suscipiendos cineres,And you shall make, for its uses, pans to receive the ashes,et forcipes atque fuscinulas,and tongs as well as small hooks,et ignium receptacula;and receptacles for fire.omnia vasa ex ære fabricabis.You shall fabricate all of its vessels from brass,

4Craticulamque in modum retis æneam:along with a grating of brass in the manner of a net.per cujus quatuor angulos erunt quatuor annuli ænei.At its four corners there shall be four rings of brass,

5Quos pones subter arulam altaris:which you shall place under the base of the altar.eritque craticula usque ad altaris medium.And the grating will extend even to the middle of the altar.

6Facies et vectes altaris de lignis setim duos,You shall also make, for the altar, two bars of setim wood,quos operies laminis æneis:which you shall cover with layers of brass.

7et induces per circulos,And you shall lead them through the rings,eruntque ex utroque latere altaris ad portandum.and they will be on both sides of the altar to carry it.

8Non solidum,You shall not make it solid,sed inane et cavum intrinsecus facies illud,but empty and hollow at the interior,sicut tibi in monte monstratum est.just as it was shown to you on the mountain.

9Facies et atrium tabernaculi,You shall also make the atrium of the tabernacle,in cujus australi plaga contra meridiem erunt tentoria de bysso retorta:at the southern part of which, opposite the meridian, there shall be hangings of fine twisted linen:centum cubitos unum latus tenebit in longitudine.one side extending for one hundred cubits in length.

10Et columnas viginti cum basibus totidem æneis,And you shall make twenty columns with the same number of bases of brass,quæ capita cum cælaturis suis habebunt argentea.the heads of which, with their engravings, shall be made of silver.

11Similiter et in latere aquilonis per longum erunt tentoria centum cubitorum,In like manner also, throughout the length of the north side, there shall be hangings of one hundred cubits,columnæ viginti,and twenty columns,et bases æneæ ejusdem numeri,and the same number of bases of brass,et capita earum cum cælaturis suis argentea.and their heads with their engravings of silver.

12In latitudine vero atrii,Yet truly,quod respicit ad occidentem,along the width of the atrium that looks out toward the west,erunt tentoria per quinquaginta cubitos,there shall be hangings of fifty cubits,et columnæ decem,and ten columns,basesque totidem.and the same number of bases.

13In ea quoque atrii latitudine,Likewise,quæ respicit ad orientem,along the width of the atrium that looks out toward the east,quinquaginta cubiti erunt.there shall be fifty cubits,

14In quibus quindecim cubitorum tentoria lateri uno deputabuntur,along which there shall be assigned hangings of fifteen cubits for one side,columnæque tresand three columns,et bases totidem:and the same number of bases.

15et in latere altero erunt tentoria cubitos obtinentia quindecim,And, along the other side, there shall be hangings occupying fifteen cubits,columnæ tres, et bases totidem.with three columns and the same number of bases.

16In introitu vero atrii fiet tentorium cubitorum viginti ex hyacintho et purpura,Yet truly, at the entrance of the atrium, there shall be made a hanging of twenty cubits,coccoque bis tincto,of hyacinth and purple,et bysso retorta,and twice-dyed scarlet,opere plumarii:and fine twisted linen,columnas habebit quatuor,wrought with embroidery. It shall have four columns,cum basibus totidem.with the same number of bases.

17Omnes columnæ atrii per circuitum vestitæ erunt argenteis laminis,All the columns surrounding the atrium shall be clothed with layers of silver,capitibus argenteis,with silver heads,et basibus æneis.and with bases of brass.

18In longitudine occupabit atrium cubitos centum,In length, the atrium shall occupy one hundred cubits,in latitudine quinquaginta,in width, fifty;altitudo quinque cubitorum erit:the height shall be of five cubits.fietque de bysso retorta,And it shall be made of fine twisted linen,et habebit bases æneas.and it shall have bases of brass.

19Cuncta vasa tabernaculi in omnes ususAll the vessels of the tabernacle,et cæremonias,for all uses and ceremonies,tam paxillos ejus quam atrii,even to the tent pegs for its atrium,ex ære facies.you shall make of brass.

20Præcipe filiis Israël ut afferant tibi oleum de arboribus olivarum purissimum,Instruct the sons of Israel so that they may bring you the purest oil of the olive trees,piloque contusum,crushed with a pestle,ut ardeat lucerna semperso that a lamp may always burn

21in tabernaculo testimonii,in the tabernacle of the testimony,extra velum quod oppansum est testimonio.outside of the veil that enshrouds the testimony.Et collocabunt eam Aaron et filii ejus,And Aaron and his sons shall arrange it,ut usque mane luceat coram Domino.so that it may give light in the presence of the Lord,Perpetuus erit cultus per successiones eorum a filiis Israël.until morning. This shall be a perpetual observance among the sons of Israel, throughout their successions.”
