⁵Eo quod fueris inimicus sempiternus,For you have been a continual adversary,et concluseris filios Israël in manus gladii in tempore afflictionis eorum,and you have enclosed the sons of Israel, by the hands of the sword, in the time of their affliction,in tempore iniquitatis extremæ:in the time of extreme iniquity.

¹²Et scies quia ego Dominus audivi universa opprobria tua quæ locutus es de montibus Israël, dicens: Deserti nobis ad devorandum dati sunt.And you shall know that I, the Lord, have heard all your disgraces, which you have spoken about the mountains of Israel, saying: ‘They are deserted. They have been given to us to devour.’
