Et ordinabis adversus eam obsidionem,And you shall set up a blockade against it,et ædificabis munitiones, and you shall build fortifications,et comportabis aggerem, and you shall put together a rampart,et dabis contra eam castra, and you shall encamp opposite it,et pones arietes in gyro.and you shall place battering rams around it.

Et tu sume tibi sartaginem ferream,And you shall take up for yourself an iron frying pan,et pones eam in murum ferreum inter te et inter civitatem:and place it as an iron wall between you and the city.et obfirmabis faciem tuam ad eam,And harden your face against it,et erit in obsidionem, and it shall be under a siege,et circumdabis eam:and you shall surround it.signum est domui Israël.This is a sign to the house of Israel.

Et tu dormies super latus tuum sinistrum,And you shall sleep on your left side.et pones iniquitates domus Israël super eo, numero dierum quibus dormies super illud:And you shall place the iniquities of the house of Israel on it by the number of days that you will sleep on it.et assumes iniquitatem eorum. And you shall take upon yourself their iniquity.

Ego autem dedi tibi annos iniquitatis eorum,For I have given to you the years of their iniquity, numero dierum trecentosby the number of the days:et nonaginta dies:three hundred and ninety days.et portabis iniquitatem domus Israël.And you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

Ecce circumdedi te vinculis:Behold, I have surrounded you with chains.et non te convertes a latere tuo in latus aliud,And you shall not turn yourself from one side to the other side, donec compleas dies obsidionis tuæ.until you have completed the days of your siege.

Et tu,And you shall take for yourself wheat, sume tibi frumentum, and barley,et hordeum, and beans,et fabam, and lentils,et lentem, and millet,et milium, and vetch.et viciam:And you shall set them in one vessel,et mittes ea in vas unum, and you shall make for yourself bread by the number of days that you will sleep upon your side:et facies tibi panes numero dierum quibus dormies super latus tuum:three hundredtrecentis et nonaginta diebus comedes illud.and ninety days shall you shall eat from it.

Cibus autem tuus,But your food, quo vesceris, which you will eat, erit in pondere viginti stateres in die:shall be in weight twenty staters a day.a tempore usque ad tempus comedes illud. You shall eat it from time to time.

Et quasi subcinericium hordeaceum comedes illud,And you shall eat it like barley bread baked under ashes.et stercore quod egreditur de homine operies illud in oculis eorum. And you shall cover it, in their sight, with the dung that goes out of a man.”

Et dixit Dominus:And the Lord said:Sic comedent filii Israël panem suum pollutum inter gentes ad quas ejiciam eos.“So shall the sons of Israel eat their bread, polluted among the Gentiles,Et dixi:to whom I will cast them out.”

A, a, a,And I said:Domine Deus,“Alas, alas, alas, ecce anima mea non est polluta:O Lord God! Behold, my soul has not been polluted,et morticinum, and from my infancy even until now,et laceratum a bestiis non comedi ab infantia mea usque nunc,I have not eaten anything that has died of itself, nor that which has been torn up by beasts,et non est ingressa in os meum omnis caro immunda.and no unclean flesh at all has entered into my mouth.”

Et dixit ad me:And he said to me:Ecce dedi tibi fimum boum pro stercoribus humanis,“Behold, I have given to you cow manure in place of human dung,et facies panem tuum in eo.and you shall make your bread with it.”

Et dixit ad me:And he said to me:Fili hominis,“Son of man, ecce ego conteram baculum panis in Jerusalem, behold: I will crush the staff of bread in Jerusalem.et comedent panem in pondere et in sollicitudine,And they will eat bread by weight and with anxiety.et aquam in mensura et in angustia bibent,And they will drink water by measure and with anguish.

ut deficientibus paneSo then,et aqua, when bread and water fail, corruat unusquisque ad fratrem suum, each one may fall against his brother.et contabescant in iniquitatibus suis. And they shall waste away in their iniquities.”
