In anno quo mortuus est rex Ozias,In the year in which king Uzziah died, vidi Dominum sedentem super solium excelsumI saw the Lord sitting on a throne,et elevatum;sublime and exalted,et ea quæ sub ipso erant replebant templum.and the things that were under him filled the temple.

Seraphim stabant super illud:The Seraphim were standing above the throne.sex alæ uni,One had six wings,et sex alæ alteri;and the other had six wings:duabus velabant faciem ejus, with two they were covering his face,et duabus velabant pedes ejus, and with two they were covering his feet,et duabus volabant.and with two they were flying.

Et clamabant alter ad alterum, et dicebant:And they were crying out to one another,Sanctus, sanctus, and saying: “Holy, sanctus Dominus, Deus exercituum;holy, holy is the Lord God of hosts!plena est omnis terra gloria ejus. All the earth is filled with his glory!”

Et commota sunt superliminaria cardinum a voce clamantis,And the lintels above the hinges were shaken at the voice of the one crying out.et domus repleta est fumo. And the house was filled with smoke.

Et dixi:And I said:Væ mihi,“Woe to me!quia tacui, quia vir pollutus labiis ego sum,For I have remained silent. For I am a man of unclean lips,et in medio populi polluta labia habentis ego habito, and I live in the midst of a people having unclean lips,et regem Dominum exercituum vidi oculis meis.and I have seen with my eyes the King, the Lord of hosts!”

Et volavit ad me unus de seraphim,And one of the Seraphim flew to me,et in manu ejus calculus, and in his hand was a burning coal, quem forcipe tulerat de altari, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.

et tetigit os meum,And he touched my mouth,et dixit:and he said,Ecce tetigit hoc labia tua,“Behold, this has touched your lips,et auferetur iniquitas tua,and so your iniquities will be taken away,et peccatum tuum mundabitur.and your sin will be cleansed.”

Et audivi vocem Domini dicentis:And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:Quem mittam?“Whom shall I send?”et quis ibit nobis?and, “Who will go for us?”Et dixi:And I said:Ecce ego,“Here I am.mitte me.Send me.”

Et dixit:And he said:Vade,“Go forth!et dices populo huic:And you shall say to this people:Audite audientes,‘When you listen,et nolite intelligere;you will hear and not understand.et videte visionem,And when you see a vision,et nolite cognoscere.you will not comprehend.’

Excæca cor populi hujus,Blind the heart of this people.et aures ejus aggrava,Make their ears heavyet oculos ejus claude:and close their eyes,ne forte videat oculis suis, lest they see with their eyes,et auribus suis audiat, and hear with their ears,et corde suo intelligat, and understand with their heart,et convertatur, and be converted,et sanem eum.and then I would heal them.”

Et dixi:And I said,Usquequo,“For how long,Domine?O Lord?”Et dixit:And he said,Donec desolentur civitates absque habitatore,“Until the cities are desolate, without an inhabitant,et domus sine homine, and the houses are without a man,et terra relinquetur deserta.and the land will be left behind, deserted.”

Et longe faciet Dominus homines,For the Lord will take the men far away,et multiplicabitur quæ derelicta fuerat in medio terræ.and she who will have been left behind will be multiplied in the midst of the earth.

Et adhuc in ea decimatio, et convertetur,But still, there will be a tithing within her,et erit in ostensionem sicut terebinthus, and she will be converted, and she will be put on display,et sicut quercus quæ expandit ramos suos;like a terebinth tree and like an oak which extends its branches.semen sanctum erit id quod steterit in ea.And what will remain standing within her will be a holy offspring.
