3Dixisti: Væ misero mihi! You have said: ‘Woe to me,quoniam addidit Dominus dolorem dolori meo:a wretched man! For the Lord has added sorrow to my sorrow.laboravi in gemitu meo,I have labored in my groaning,et requiem non inveni.and I have not found rest.’

4Hæc dicit Dominus:Thus says the Lord:Sic dices ad eum:So shall you say to him:Ecce quos ædificavi, ego destruo,Behold, those whom I have built up,et quos plantavi, ego evello,I destroy, and those whom I have planted,et universam terram hanc:I uproot, even this entire land.

5et tu quæris tibi grandia? noli quærere,And are you seeking great things for yourself?quia ecce ego adducam malum super omnem carnem,Do not choose to seek them. For behold, I will lead evil over all that is flesh, ait Dominus, says the Lord.et dabo tibi animam tuam in salutem in omnibus locis ad quæcumque perrexeris. But I will give your life to you unto salvation, in every place, wherever you may travel.”
