³Et dixit Dominus ad Satan:And the Lord said to Satan,Numquid considerasti servum meum Job,“Have you not considered my servant,quod non sit ei similis in terra,Job,vir simplex et rectus,that there is no one like him in the land,ac timens Deum,a simple and honest man,et recedens a malo,fearing God and withdrawing from evil,et adhuc retinens innocentiam?and still retaining his innocence?tu autem commovisti me adversus eum,Yet you have stirred me against him,ut affligerem eum frustra.so that I would afflict him to no purpose.”
