Ecce enim dies veniet succensa quasi caminus:For, behold, the day will arrive,et erunt omnes superbi et omnes facientes impietatem stipula:kindled like a furnace, and all the arrogant and all those who act impiously will be stubble.et inflammabit eos dies veniens,And the approaching day will inflame them, dicit Dominus exercituum, says the Lord of hosts;quæ non derelinquet eis radicem et germen.it will leave behind for them neither root, nor sprout.

Et orietur vobis timentibus nomen meum sol justitiæ,But unto you, who fear my name, the Sun of justice will arise,et sanitas in pennis ejus:and health will be in his wings.et egrediemini, et salietis sicut vituli de armento. And you will go forth and leap like the calves of the herd.

Et calcabitis impios,And you will trample the impious, cum fuerint cinis sub planta pedum vestrorum, while they will be ashes under the sole of your foot,in die qua ego facio,on the day that I act, dicit Dominus exercituum.says the Lord of hosts.

Mementote legis Moysi servi mei,Remember the law of Moses my servant, quam mandavi ei in Horeb ad omnem Israël,which I commanded him on Horeb for all Israel,præcepta et judicia.the precepts and the judgments.

Ecce ego mittam vobis Eliam prophetam,Behold, antequam veniat dies Domini magnusI will send to you Elijah the prophet,et horribilis.before the arrival of the great and terrible day of the Lord.

Et convertet cor patrum ad filios,And he will turn the heart of the fathers to the sons,et cor filiorum ad patres eorum:and the heart of the sons to their fathers,ne forte veniam, lest I comeet percutiam terram anathemate.and strike the earth with anathema.
